The church that meets at North Gardendale is a congregation of Christians redeemed by the blood of Jesus. We are not affiliated with any other church or organization. We use the Bible as our only source of authority for the things we practice. We believe it is sufficient to instruct us in how we ought to live and worship in order to please God. The local congregation at North Gardendale was started by a group of Christians in 1971. The group originally met in the Snow Rogers Elementary School building while the current facility was being built. The first service was held on March 28, 1971, with 67 in attendance. Bro. Ervin Driskill served as the evangelist for the first 14 months of the church's existence. In June 1972 Bro. Richard Weaver began work as the minister of the congregation. His work continued until 1976. During his tenure the church met first in the Snow Rogers school building, and then moved to its present facility in November 1973. Six years later (1979 ) the building was paid off.
