Founded in 1935 by brothers Ty and Leroy Zeigler, Zeigler Brothers originated as a local producer of poultry and livestock feeds. In 1967, Thomas Zeigler assumed leadership as president and changed the strategic direction from commodity feeds to emphasize on research and development of specialty animal and aquatic diets. Its product divisions are pet and zoo, aquaculture and lab research. The company offers contract manufacturing and private labeling options for custom branded products. Its capabilities include product development, raw material sourcing, nutritional formulation, custom retail and bulk packaging, and various specialized manufacturing processes. Zeigler has two manufacturing facilities located in south-central Pennsylvania and one franchise operation in Panama. Both U.S. facilities utilize ISO 9001:2000 quality guidelines and are certified for organic feed production. The company has a location in Gardners, Pa.

I had been involved with Zeigler Feeds and their quality assurance programs for forty years -- working with both the PA Fish Commission and US Fish & Wildlife Service. Zeigler's Technology and Nutrition personnel have worked effectively to bring high quality feeds and aquaculture products to the market. And for sales of their aquaculture commodities, Zeigler's service and reliability have demonstrated a very high performance and reflected a "customer first" attitude. For me this is a 5-star rating.
