The GISD Technology Department conducts classes in Web mastering, graphics, animation and networking concepts. It also offers lessons in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Internet research skills, as well as programming languages. The department maintains network, software, data operations and application system teams. Its open system team maintains students information and personnel databases. The department conducts researche activities evaluates purchases, and receives and distributes technology equipment. In addition, its team develops and supports software and desktop strategies. The technology department equips classrooms with Internet access, districtwide connectivity and teaching tools. GISD Technology Department is a part of the Garland Independent School District.
