Provided by YP.comPlease be careful-This institution minimized repetitive racial bullying.
Despite two pleas to cease comments, the leaders showed indifference to prejudicial remarks. I sent an email to the teacher, as well as speaking with the child's grandparent who worked at the academy. The director excused prejudiced remarks by contending that, "In a 12 year old mind--he did not know he was being hurtful." (This was after he verbalized that the boy chose the presidential joke from his friends cell phone)----Why would a child opt to choose prejudicial jokes from the array of other entertaining jokes?
Prejudicial Comments:
-The yellow man lives in yellow house, Green man lives in Green House. ..... What man lives in the white house? (This was a joke, My child answered..."The President" )
-Asians were verbalized as being dirty! My child's best friend was from the Philippines
-The child from Mexico was called a Churro!
-Next. My child's race was assumed, while noting that the other students were white.
_______This prompted me to speak to the director. My resolve was to separate and monitor the bully and his brother from my daughter. I stomached that it was too late in the year to move my child. I was angered and frustrated. Prior correspondence was a email to the teacher and a early morning conversation with the child's grandparent.
Last: After speaking with director who claimed that the boy was reprimanded, the next morning , the bully returned singing,"Can you help me hide a body?-It's starting to decay."- to the sound of Frozen.
Also, three children sharing one computer every day was unacceptable. I actually sent my laptop to the school so that she could learn.
-------- I chose to place my child in a christian private school hoping to avoid this type of behavior. I paid for my child to learn content, not hatred. Racism is a "learned behavior" Please be careful, do not pay for your child to be hurt.

Provided by YP.comWe love Firewheel Christian Academy! 6th grade is going to be amazing! My son really loves going to school. His teacher is attentive and the class size is small compared to public school and even most private schools. He's enjoyed soccer, basketball, track, choir and acting. The academics are strong here and the Bible based curriculum is wonderful! The parents are active in the school and the children are loving and respectful. The principal is amazing as well!
