The Garland Alternative Education Center has a staff of regular classroom teachers, counselors, school resource officers and support staff members. It imparts education in English, science, math, social studies, computer applications, reading, therapeutic arts, theater arts, Spanish, and health and physical education. The school has a guidance department that provides group and individual guidance, drug and psychosocial assessments, career development and community referral services. It has a library media center that provides access to resources for students and staff in curriculum areas and also offers a variety of print and electronic sources to assist in the learning process.
