This place is a joke. I wanted a 5 inch piece of elastic inserted in the back of a pair of boots to give me more room to zip them up. I was told it would cost $39., that is half the cost of the boots.

This is the best cobbler i have ever been to ... i have worn cowboy boots for over 30 years and there was a good place in crown point for some years but suddenly closed leaving me in the lurch since there just aren't that many cobblers around anymore let alone good ones ... i stumbled onto this gentleman's establishment quite by accident and took two pairs of boots to him for heels and full soles ... this was on a monday and when his wife, who works the front, handed me my claim ticket she told me the boots would be ready wednesday ... i asked if she meant a week from that coming wednesday but she said no, two days ... and they were ready on that wednesday and the work was perfect ... perfect ... and the one smooth leather boot had been polished to a high sheen and the rough-out suede boot was brushed and cleaned making that pair look ten years newer ... simply excellent work ... the best work i have ever come across in over thirty years and no one, i mean no one, has ever turned around work that fast and certainly not with that quality ... this is the place to go even if, as the gentleman from benton harbor said, it is worth a two hour (or more) drive to go here ... great service and craft at a good price and an amazing turnaround time on the job ... you simply cannot ask for more than that nor find a better place certainly to take your boots ... i can't think that the high quality doesn't apply to shoes though i don't wear shoes ;)

the gentleman that does the service is honest, and experienced at what he does. I travel from Benton Harbor Michigan just to get my shoes serviced (heels cut down). He does them while I shop. I have never had any complaints about the workmanship. i've tried other places closer to home and they don't do good work. They have damaged my shoes. But at the Village Shoe Repair Shop. You won't get bad service, and your goods won't be damaged. By the way Benton Harbor is about an 2hr drive or more. So that's how good this business is .
