So I visited this establishment after finding out they have karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights and calling ahead to make sure they were open for business. I dressed casually in a collared polo, jeans, and a fleece jacket. I pulled into the lot and upon walking in, I was hastily approached by an older Caucasian woman who asked, "May I help you, Sir?" Her tone read as if she thought I was lost, homeless, or both. I responded by expressing my interest in staying and singing karaoke. Her response? "We do have karaoke, but this is a private club and you have to be a member." Feeling both immediately unwelcome and uninvited I thanked the lady for the info and swiftly exited. I was not asked if I wanted to purchase a membership, which I gladly would have done, nor was I even asked if I wanted a drink, which I gladly would have purchased. Instead, I was presumably racially profiled as a "black freeloader in a hoodie," and I was immediately dis-invited and turned away. Needless to say I won't be back but in conclusion, the bar was dead anyway, so why turn away a potential customer that could either invite more people and/or spread the word about another karaoke spot in G-Town? I was shocked more than offended, because one would think that things like this would not happen in 2018. Such a shame.
