I have had an abnormal pap smear for about a year now and I have to do them regulary every six months. After my last one I received a letter in the mail saying my results were unchanged and to repeat in six months. Two weeks ago, I received a letter in the mail saying that if I didn't come back for a follow-up appointment that I could have cervical cancer and die. After waiting two weeks for my appointment I finally went in for a repeat pap smear. Due to a bank error, I only had $23 of my $25 co-pay. I asked if I could get the other two dollars as I was running late this morning, and did not have time to get the two dollars, the rather rude woman in the office said she had to go ask the doctor. After receiving non stop calls, a letter in the mail, and a registered letter telling me that I had to redo this pap smear, I get turned away over two dollars. I was just disappointed in this because if I'm really dying, you'd think they'd show a little bit more compassion.
