Laura has been incredibly helpful for me and my family. I first saw her for help with depression and anxiety when my children were in their early teens. She was so kind and professional and helped me with my issues and my parenting skills! Anytime I have found myself floundering she has helped me get back on track. I have been seeing her as needed for at least 12 years now. Laura has been there whenever I have had problems, from petty misunderstandings with family to serious life-changing events. She is always compassionate but truthful when I have to face my fears and human failings. I would recommend Laura Sylva without reservation to anyone who wants to have help living a better life.

I've been seeing Laura off and on for several years. I have had other Counselors/Therapists/Psychologists, and I'd have to say that I've gotten the best results from Laura which is why I don't have to see her all the time. She is able to first zero in on the real problem and then helps me handle it and gives me tools tools to handle it in the future. I find her to be empathetic, intelligent, insightful and well-spoken. I highly recommend her. If you have a problem, I suggest you see her.

I went to see Laura about five or six times for my anxiety, and I have to say she was not that helpful. For starters, she gave me a relaxation technique from The Dr. Oz Show. I thought she could have put in a little more effort for what she was being paid. She dismissed some of my more serious issues I had and wanted to know more about stuff that was irrelevant to my anxiety. Every time we did talk about my problems, she would always turn the conversation around to herself. Sharing personal things about her life that I think no patient should be told. It would have also been nice if she could have taken care of her bathroom needs before my session. Bottom line, I would not recommend seeing her because you are just going to pay by the hour to get advice from an uneducated and unprofessional airhead that I guarantee you, will not help you in the least.
