As a membership-based Direct Primary Care practice, Ochna Health’s one and only focus is you. We strive to provide you and your family with timely, comprehensive, and personalized primary care. The health care system as it is now is broken. Premiums are ever increasing with less and less coverage. For every $1 spent on health care premiums, only 28c reach the end provider. The rest is spent on administrative paperwork! The US health care system is wrongly and heavily tiered towards sick care and specialist care. Primary care doctors, pressured to see more and more patients in shorter and shorter visits, referred patients to specialists more and more. Is that necessary? Per research from AristaMD, 50% of specialist visits are unnecessary, and only 3 out of every 8 patients receiving specialist referrals actually need to see a specialist. We need to emphasize more “health” care instead of sick care. In the Direct Primary Care model, you get twice the care for half the price, with no waiting. Your health care deductible funds go twice as far. There is no insurance administrative cost for us, so we pass the savings on to you in the form of longer appointments and lower prices. Our visits are at least 20 minutes face-to-face time, and our prices are as much as 50% less than the traditional practices. We are in no rush to see another patient just so we can send out another bill to the insurance company. I am proud to say that at our clinic, there will not be a waiting room. We treat all our members as part of our extended family, and that is the way it should be. We are also able to offer you innovative services like secure text message, secure video chats , and health-coaching through a HIPAA-compliant platform. We will even conduct appointments at your home, or work place. The inspiration for the name Ochna came from the flower of Tet, “Hoa Mai”. Literally, it means the "flower of tomorrow", signaling a new start, a new beginning. I truly believe this is the new beginning for all of us, both patients and physicians. Our primary focus is you, the patient, and your health. It is like having a doctor in your family.
