Provided by YP.comFirst delt with Choice several months ago. Tim the general manager quickly analyzed the problem with the transmission on my 2006 Dodge truck and gave me options to repair it. This transmission had 260K miles on it. I chose a new transmission which was guaranteed for 3 years. I paid a little more for an upgraded transmission and I think it was worthwhile. Went back after approximately 7000 miles to get a checkup which Choice did for free and they fixed some wireing harness problems which were giving me some erratic shifting issues. Good people to do business with I think. I would recommend them for your transmission repairs.

Provided by YP.comThis shop is a scam. They told me that they would only charge me $450 to remove and reinstall my transmission that I had rebuilt. It needed a new pump and that was it ($150 part) they said that all they would charge to replace the pump was the cost of the pump as I knew that was the problem when I took it in. They even said the pump was around $150, but possibly it would not need a whole pump, just a new rotor. A few days later they call and say that the transmission needs to be completely rebuilt at a cost of over $1600. Quite the difference from the phone conversation. They said a pump would be $350+, a new torque converter would be $400+ and a new seal kit would be $100. They also said this would include their 24 month warranty. Well, fortunately for me, I had just built the transmission, so I asked them how it would be possible that the whole transmission needed a complete rebuild as it was just done and all the parts were not just new, they were top of the line. I also new that I could buy a new pump on ebay for $150 or less and that a new torque converter on ebay is only $120 and that the only seals needing replaced would only cost about $20 from the local transmission supply shop. I told them to box up the transmission and I will fix it and they can just put it back in as that is all I wanted to pay them for. After much negotiating on there part, they brought their price down to $900 and gave me a 6 month warranty. I didnt like the deal, but figured the warranty was worth it as they said they would warranty the whole transmission. FF 1 month, I noticed right away that the transmission was acting funny and I suspected the valve body being bad as it is a common problem with this transmission. I go back and explain the problem and symptoms and they sniff the fluid and check for codes and say everything is fine. I dont believe them, so I take some videos of the symptoms and send it to them and to my transmission adviser in Alabama. My adviser tells me that it is definatly the valve body. Finally, choice transmission looks at the video and agrees with me that there is a problem and it is probably the valve body. So I take it back, under warranty, and they keep it for 3 days and finally say that it needs a valve body and that would cost me $400. I said its under warranty, they replied that the warranty is only on the torque converter and not on the transmission. I said they were full of bs and they had told me the warranty is on the whole transmission as I was told this by them when I paid before. They denied it and will not fix the warrantied item. I will be persuing them in court and with the media teams to see if they will actually honor their warranty. If you are thinking of using this shop, do not do it. THEY ARE A SCAM AND ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY. They do not honor their warranty unless they are able to way overcharge you for the work that they do, You will save money and get better quality work at another shop that actually honors their warranties. Lets face it, transmission problems suck, there are many scam shops and since most people have no clue about transmissions, they get screwed. That is why I rebuilt it myself and have now rebuilt 2 transmission, both of which work great with the exception of this valve body problem. Go somewhere else and save yourself the headache.
I just talked to them, and now they say that they are only going to replace the valve body with a used one, not even a remanufactured one that would have fixed the flaw by GM. So, it is not even a proper fix. At the end of the conversation, they told me that I was no longer considered a customer of theirs and were going to void any warranty that I had already paid for. They know that the transmission will fail prior to the end of the warranty as this problem will cause premature failure.

I had just bought a 2001 Jeep Wrangler with Automatic Transmission. Had it for 3 weeks and unfortunately the Torque converter started to fail. I was referred to Jason at Choice by a friend that owns a Car repair business but does not do Tranny work.I brought it in unannounced at 9:30am. They checked the code, Determined the torque converter had issues. Jason gave me all my options and quoted me the labor price to pull the tranny to see the extent of the problem and explained everything. This was on a Wednesday, I needed the Jeep back by Thursday evening for a camping trip on Friday. He hooked me up with a rental car (Toyota Camry) for $25 per day. Long story short.... Jason called me when he said he would and provided me with detailed information every time we spoke. My Jeep was finished thursday after lunch. He did everything he said he would do and I felt always that I was important. Great way to run a business. I totally Recommend Choice!!! Thanks, Steve

My a/c went out so I took it here to recharge freon, they conned me into doing the evac check freon for $89, a little more than the advertised $29.99...ok. The owner, Jason, even offered to take me back to work while he looks at my car. Wow I thought, this place is really good, didnt know that ride was gonna cost me thousands...shoulda called discount cab LOL. Okay, so here's the story; he called me at work and said my compressor was bad, had to be replaced $1,900 + labor = ~$2,400 (Whaaaat!)Of course I said I had to wait on the repair due to lack of $$$. On my next oil change I went to Car Guy which is right next door to Choice Transmission. Gene at Car Guy changed my oil for $18.99, fixed my a/c problem for under $150!!! That's what I call an honest mechanic! So make a choice...don't go to Choice Transmission! (Jason, I don't know how you sleep at night!)

I was recommended to this shop by a trusted mechanic friend of mine. When Jason got it, he said that my transmission would need to be rebuilt, but because I was referred, he would only charge me $980 for the parts that were needed and no labor. So I paid that. On my way home (not even 10 miles) my check engine light came back on and my car started doing the exact same thing that I took it in for. So I went back and he told me that he would have an electrician go through it because the code that was coming up said that only Hyundai could scan it and reset it, but that his electrician has the same equipment. His electrician came back and said that it needed a Transmission Control Module, so they replaced that for another $980. On the way home, AGAIN the light came back on. So this time I took it to Hyundai and they told me that they almost NEVER replace a TCM and especially in a car that only has 75000 miles on it. All it needed all along was a Transmission Control Relay... a $25

Provided by YP.comI was quoted a very high price and told them I could not afford the repair. Then they began lowering the price quoting some sort of special discount. I refused and wanted to tow my vehicle out of their shop. They kept lowering the price. Adjustable prices rather than an honest quote for the repair. Stay away from these crooks and find another place. They did not return all of my parts. I took my vehicle to another transmission place and they had to go an get my parts back. I was ripped off, please look elsewhere for your repairs.

My vehicle broke down near this location and was towed to Az Choice Transmission. Jason contacted me and quoted me an astronomical price. When I did not agree he kept lowering the price. I called a tow truck and took it to another place. They even kept some of my parts. The other transmission place had to deal with these crooks to get my parts back. Find another transmission repair place and stay away from these crooks!

The guy said it'd cost 2000.00 to fix, no way around it. After telling him a tow truck was on the way to get it, magically, the price drops to 800.00. Too late, crook. He tried to pass off that he's giving a generous discount of 1200.00 just because. Whatever, he doesn't even lie well. Instead of being a failed thief, be an honest mechanic who has an ounce of dignity.
