Provided by YP.comThe only way that they notified us that they were moving is through email.. An email I never saw, they did not post it on the door like they did other notices, they have also called me and sent letters to notify me of other things but not this very important piece of information. I found out they were moving one day after my contract was to be renewed, I went in the next day to cancel and was told I was not allowed to.. I then pointed out that they broke their own contract by moving outside of the 6 mile radius agreed upon within said contract. They are now threatening to sue me if I don't pay them $2000 even though they broke their own contract and will not acknowledge that

Provided by YP.comI have two children who attend Sandoval Freestyle Karate. My son is eleven and has been attending classes for two years. He is a natural athlete but his karate training has given him an extra edge. His strength, speed, power and agility has increased. But where I feel my son has benefited the most is his ability to listen, focus on a given task and perform the task.
My daughter who is nine has had a complete different type of benefit from karate. She has gained a tremendous amout of confidence in herself. Her strength and flexibility have increased and she has taken a liking to that. In PE she tests high on push ups, pull ups and sit ups. I can see when she looks in the mirror she gives herself that confident smile.
All the instructors are great. They greet the students by their names, which makes them feel welcomed. All the instructors are able to engage each student. There are plenty of instructors, junior instructors and demonstrators at each class. Each child gets plenty of attention and one-on-one help.
My favorite part of the program at Sandoval Freestyle Karate is that I can take my kids to class up to four times a week. I really feel like I am getting my money s worth. If we don t make it on Monday we can still go on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday. I do not feel as if I am not able to get one of my kids to class on Monday they have missed out on class for the entire week.

Provided by YPmobileMy daughter has been attending sandoval karate for the last couple years. My husband and I have been very impressed with it.The instructors are great with the kids and have gone above and beyond. I appreciate the time they put aside to help the kids achieve their goals. My daughter has a hard time when it comes to the belt testing but does great in the regular classes. They have stayed after class to help her work on whatever she needs help on. Its a positive and encouraging atmosphere. The only thing I have a problem with is the parking. 5 stars all the way ;)

Provided by YP.comWe have been going to Sandoval Freestyle Karate for the past two years and couldn't be more pleased. The instructors are amazing with the kids. My son has learned karate while having fun at the same time. It is always a positive and encouraging atmosphere while maintaining the integrity of martial arts. All the instructors we've had these past two years have been top notch, especially Mr. Garrett. He has went above and beyond to help our child achieve his goals. The only negative thing I have to say is that the parking is challenging at times and the complex is very busy. Other than that I'd say it's fantastic. It must be or I wouldn't drive 40 minutes one way and pass 10 karate studios on the way!!

Provided by YP.comSandoval Freestyle Karate is just as the 5 stars states...AS GOOD AS IT GETS! I have (2) children attending the studio, ages 9 and 6 and we have been attending 2x a week for the last (9) months. My children have had to endure a tremendous amount of stressors in their childhoods and I really wanted them to have an outlet, but I never could have imagined all the amazing things this studio has done for my precious boys.
Not only are their plenty of instructors to ensure the kids get the proper guidance and structure, they are amazing with all the kids no matter the age or the skill level! One of my absolute favorite things about this studio is the kids have to know what they are doing in order to achieve their next goal. They are not just handed a new belt when they have been in attendance for a certain amount of days, they are tested and if they are not ready and they don't pass their test then the don't move forward until they are ready; however, if they don't pass the instructors take notice and give that child one on one attention until they get it. Personally, it bothers me when our kids are rewarded for participation or given trophies when they did nothing to deserve it. My boys are now yellow belts and it took (8) months for them to get to that point...but they know their stuff and they are dedicated to the program. They have started an understanding that this is a commitment and they love it!
I want every one to know that this studio is not based on any type of violent behavior. I have NEVER heard any of the instructors so much as raise their voice no matter how many buttons the kids will try to push (that's where push-ups come in), the kids also know that if they misuse their karate skills then they could be stripped of their belts!
Lastly, all the parents are involved in this journey with our kids. If they are not producing at school or behaving at home, the instructors want to know about it and they have personally set goals for my boys when they have faced certain issues which has helped a lot! I love telling them that I am "going to tell Mr. Garrett"...or if they do something great the instructors want to hear about that as well and they get rewards like picking the game at the end of class or even getting a tip for their belts.
This studio is just an amazing atmosphere, a great outlet, a wonderful balance between exercise, technique, skill, self-defense and fun and the pricing is spot on! In a recent project for school my son wrote that Mr. Garrett inspires him, and that speaks volumes!
I highly recommend Sandoval Freestyle Karate and I can't wait to see how far my boys take this (my oldest says he will have his black belt by 15) and the continual positive changes they will make!

Provided by YP.comAbsolutely the best dojo I have ever been to, bar none!
I have studied martial arts for many years, in several different disciplines, in two states, and none of them ever had the devotion to a fun, educational, caring, family atmosphere that Sandoval Karate offers.
Being parents themselves, they know the value of positive influence and selflessness and how well it can define a child's core. From holding ones self accountable to reaching out to others and engaging the community to education and physical fitness, Sandoval's teachings have a lifelong impression on all they instruct.
All things being equal, I can think of no other martial arts dojo that offers what Sandoval Freestyle Karate can provide.
Great rates, support, accountability, family atmosphere, ... I could go on and on. See for yourself what my daughter and I have been witness to.
You wont be disappointed. I know we're happy.

Provided by YP.comMy kids have participated with Sandoval Freestyle Karate for several years. Not only are the instructors fantastic at teaching the art and skills of karate, they have become a support system for my children in their overall development and well-being. When we had some health issues, they were more than willing to work with us on our 6-month contract by freezing the dates until we were able to return. We have even had birthday parties at the studio and built great memories! The Sandovals and the instructors personally care about their students, their families and run a great program. We have recommended Sandoval Freestyle Karate to many, many friends and family and will continue there for a long time to come!

Provided by YP.comThey also have poor customer service and are a predatory business. They charge you when they know your child is unable to attend even when it's cancer. Do not sign their contract. You never know what may happen in life and the management does not care.
As small business owners, our goal is to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers and students. Unfortunately, it isn't always easy to please every last one of our customers, regardless of how hard we try. In this particular case, it would appear that the old saying, "no good deed goes unpunished," would be a bit of an understatement. You may recall that when you first came to us to enroll your grandson into our karate program, you read, initialed, and signed our customer agreement that clearly states how you will be billed, how much you will be billed, how often you will be billed, and how to cancel to prevent further billing if you no longer intended on having your grandchild attend our classes. You may also recall that we went out of our way, upon your request, to allow your grandchild to attend our school because you had child custody concerns and were unsure of where his permanent residence would be. Unfortunately, by the time you alerted us that you were no longer in custody of your grandchild and wished to have his classes cancelled, his program had already entered into the second billing cycle and you were charged in accordance with our agreement. It is our policy not to prorate our classes or issue a refund after a billing cycle has occurred, as per our customer agreement. We are a bit confused, because your comment suggests that you quit our program due to your grandchild having cancer. This is the first we've heard of this and if true, you have our deepest sympathy; however, his condition should have been made aware to us upon enrollment. You mentioned on the phone that if you were not reimbursed for your final payment for karate classes that you'd write a bad review about our company, stating your comments, "may or may not be true." I don't know if your claim about your grandchild having cancer is true or not, but if it's the latter... Well, I just don't know what to say, other than that's simply not the right thing to do. It really hurts our feelings to be called a predatory business with poor customer service, as we strive day-in and day-out to be the best and to fully apply ourselves in every aspect of our company. To any parents or potential students who read this, please believe that we currently have several hundred happy and very satisfied customers. Please stop by either of our locations - Gilbert or Chandler, unannounced or by appointment, to view our facilities, meet our instructors, and to talk with fellow parents and/or students. We love what we do and we love our students! Thank you to all of our loyal customers and especially those who've taken the time to write such nice reviews about us!
