We boarded our small dog Maxwell for 6 days. Due to a change in our schedule, we arrived one day early to pick him up and boy were were in for a RUDE awakening! We were told that dogs who stayed over 3 days received a free bath but Maxwell had NOT been bathed, in fact, he had feces matted into his hair in several places and it was obvious that no one ever wiped his eyes the entire time as his fur was encrusted heavily below his eyes. It was disgusting! When I inquired of the clerk as to why he was so dirty, she replied that they only give baths the day before they go home. I tried to explain that I was informed that I was specifically told they got baths THREE DAYS after boarding, and in fact, their brochure states the same. She was quite rude and did not apologize and basically shrugged her shoulders because she did not care, and then sprayed Maxwell with some spray to MASK the terrible odor he had. If this wasn't bad enough, I noticed Maxwell's collar was a bit loose so I weighed him when he got home and he lost three pounds, a lot for a dog who only weighs 7 pounds! He is skin and bones! And he shies away when you go to pet him. WHAT happened to my 1 1/2 year old dog? He seems traumatized, skittish and has yet to bark even ONCE! He is peeing and pooping on the floor and seems disoriented. We will be taking him to the Vet tomorrow because something is HORRIBLY wrong. Do NOT take your pet there, PLEASE do not take your pet there!
