Provided by YP.comthis was POOR service - ALL AROUND - WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone .. the office staff is no help - we origianlly booked the move for mid month - but due to a problem with the new apt - they had to push back the move until the end of the month - but I had already booked and paid a deposit (required) so I contacted the office spoke to Wendy - changed date .. no problem - so I thought - since it moved to the "busy time of the month" my pre-booked CASH rate was not honored ... I was not happy - called back the next day to see if they would honor the orig quoted hrly rate - they explained again that because it was the "HIGH volume - BUSY time " the rate changed - even though it was NOT my doing - the new apt complex had problems with the apt that would not be ready in time ... so the girl transferred me to someone else (didn't preadvise me of that) I think she was a mgr - explained to me again - Like I was 5 - the reason was due to the high volume time ...blah ..blah ... I told her that I compreheded the reason the frist time when Beatrice told me .. but that I was dis-pleased with the rate change and was hoping - since they came highly recomended by someone I worked with - but there was nothing I could do .. the rate increased ... if I could have re-booked with someone else I would have - but since I couldn't afford to loose my deposit on top of everything else ..things are tight and we were downsizing due to job loss and salary reductions - I felt STUCK .. but hoped for the best .. SO WRONG ABOUT THAT ... guys that showed up were sub-contractos with a kind of 5th wheel set up - they asked if I would sign the damage release BEFORE they started moving my stuff - I called the office and they contacted the driver - and so I gave them the benifit of the doublt - they seemed to work harder when my husband was present ... then at the new place ...kinda slowed down - (my husband stayed at the old apt to clean up and gather some of the items we were moving ourselves - but then when it was all said & done ...4 1/2 hrs later - and we even bought them LUNCH ...let them take a break ...- alot of my stuff had marks - dirt - no regard for my stuff.it seemed ... would they want someone to treat their things the same way they move others ???? SADLY ... very SADLY .. I may have to move again in a year .. but I WILL NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE AGAIN .. or REFER anyone to them .....
Mary Lou Hedge originally scheduled service for mid month February then changed to the end of the month (2/28). All moving industry service rates increase slightly during the beginning and end of the month. Ms. Hedge was advised of this when she contacted us initially. Her rate increased only $5.00/hr. Had she rescheduled for mid month service her initial pricing would have remained unchanged. When Ms. Hedge originally scheduled service she received a written confirmation specifically stating that the deposit is not refundable but can be applied to future service. When a customer schedules service we block out time for their service. Unlike some other companies once a customer schedules service we honor our commitment to provide the service – in 16 years we have never failed to provide scheduled service. Yes, our movers are professional movers who are independent contractors. These independent contractors provide a higher level of professional moving service than $10 per hour untrained labor pool or day laborers used by some companies. The "5th wheel set-up" was actually one of 17 of our custom built custom dimension enclosed moving industry trailers. We discontinued using box trucks years ago because of the poor transport ride and excessive length of time it takes to load and unload them. She WAS NOT asked to sign any damage release BEFORE the service. She was asked to sign a release for certain particleboard furniture that is not covered by the manufacturer and/or our warrantee. Moving a 900 square foot dwelling from a 3rd floor to a 2nd floor in 4 1/2 hours start to finish, with a lunch break that the customer allowed, is extremely fast according to the American Moving and Storage Association time estimate listings. As it relates to her claim of “marks & dirt” it should be noted that customer signed a statement that reads in part: "I hereby attest that the moving services were completed to my absolute satisfaction." Additionally, no such complaint was ever filed with our office. If all of the alleged claims in her post were accurate and true why would Ms. Hedge have signed such a statement and release??? We endeavor to ultimately please all of our customers, however, it is very difficult to do so when unsubstantiated and untrue statements are made.

Provided by YP.comHey, I called this company and was impressed from the get-go. The gal on the phone knew her job and helped me decide what type of service I needed. No up-sell nonsense. They emailed me with documents that outlined the price, etc. and even sent a list of things to do to get ready to move. The movers were seasoned professionals and very friendly guys. Use this company and you won't be sorry.

Provided by YP.comBeing in the military we have moved alot. Allstar has the best service from start to finish that we have ever experienced. Friendly, helpful office people and super movers who didn't even stop for lunch. The price was cheap for the level of service we received and they had one of the best consumer protection policies of any company. They were fast and careful. Not a single item had damage!
