Elms convalescent hospital is a for-profit warehouse for senior citizens. I have heard patient's request for nursing assistants lasting up to 45 minutes with no attempt being made to find out what they need. I soon learned that without family visits patients are not responded to. I have listened to staff make "jokes" about patients putting them on their wills. Patient rehabilitation has been an absolute joke. Having the patient respond or not respond to Sega Video games for exercise was considered successful rehabilitation. Witnessing the parking of patients in the hallway while staff performs routine duties is perhaps the most distressing fact about this convalescent hospital. When patients complain about not getting any services, the staff is quick to request increased antidepressant medication. Please sit quietly and witness this operation over the course of several days before you commit your loved one to this sad sad for profit human warehouse.
