Provided by YP.comTHIS IS A GREAT BIKE SHOP!!!! I always recommend Glendale Cyclery to anyone who asks about a good bike shop.
I have been riding for more than 25 years on all kinds of bikes - road, mountain and most recently recumbent. I have patronized bike shops where ever I go - (Glendale to Denmark.) But for the past 15 years, Glendale Cyclery has been my home bike shop. Doug & Mary Ann Jackson are the owners. and Doug is also the master mechanic in the shop. He has been able to build, and/or repair all my old bikes as well as my new ones. He is honest, fair and incredibly talented. He has encyclopedic knowledge of all types of bicycles, and uses it to find optimal, cost effective solutions to my problems. Not only has he met my needs for a high end, optimized ride, he has also found the "comfy", moderately priced bike for my wife, and starter bikes for my children.
Do yourself a favor and check out this shop!!!

Provided by YP.comI took my older bike in one morning originally to have the bearings replaced because there was significant popping when riding. He argued with me and told me I was wrong and lubed it, tightened it up, straighten some spokes and rim and sent me on my way, $8, gave him a 10 and told him to keep the change.
I took it back the next morning and said it's still the same, after more bikering about it not being the cassette I made him ride it and then he finally agreed withy me that it was the bearings and said he'd have it done by 5pm. I asked him if he wanted me to fill out a ticket, phone number or whatever, he said no, ok. I had to go to work early and so I couldn't pick up at 5 so I called and left a message that I'll p/u the next morning.
The next morning I walk in, the place is empty, no bikes on the double bike stand and he's reading a magazine. I asked him how it went with my bike and he told me he didn't get to it yet.. to try back in a few hours.. I went back a few hours later, the place was still empty, no bicyles on the stands, he was doing what looked like inventory, fumbling through riding shorts and he wasn't on the phone.
I asked him how it went and he said he didn't get to it, he's been busy.. He grabs my bike and takes it in the back.. then I just asked him if he doesn't want to work on it I understand (I had to go to school and couldn't wait there for him to actually do it.) He turns the bike to me and tells me to take it to another place then.
Thanks, I said.. The most unprofessional place I've been to in a long time. Bummer.
Sorry this happen to you. What many people do NOT understand that with older bikes, parts are hard to come by. They just can't be ordered and they certainly cannot be ordered over night. Possible the mechanic thought he had the part and didn't. Old bikes are challenging for any store. Try again, give us another chance. Thank you for your review.

Provided by YP.comSmall shop, but excellent service. Owner was very helpful in helping me pick just the right bike for me. And, I felt he did not talk down to me as some other shops did or try to oversell me. I love my new bike.
