Built in 1926, John C. Fremont Elementary School is a traditional calendar elementary school and is part of the Glendale Unified School District. It is located in Glendale, Calif., and offers a curriculum to students in grades kindergarten through six. The school also accepts assistance from parents, grandparents, and students from local college and feeder high schools to work with the students. The gifted and talented education programs are an integral part of the school curriculum and include differentiated and modified instruction. The school s recreational after-school program provides supervised homework time and activities that stimulate curiosity, foster creativity, encourage independence, problem solving and enhance self-esteem. John C. Fremont Elementary School has an active parent-teacher association that supports various school programs that include art programs and lessons on art history and hands-on projects based on the work of selected master artists.
