Small Wonder Preschool is a nonprofit educational corporation focused on special needs children. The school's philosophy is that all children can learn, and its special curriculum programs, which are designed for hearing-impaired, autistic or disabled children, make that possible. The school offers free evaluations of a child s development in the areas of speech and language, fine and gross motor, social and emotional, cognitive and adaptive skills. The evaluation consists of a social history; psychological, speech and language, occupational therapy, physical therapy and educational evaluations; and a hearing screening. Small Wonder also offers support groups and educational seminars for parents through the Small Wonder Association for Parents, which meets on a monthly basis. The school s diverse staff of professionals consists of special education teachers, teachers of the deaf, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists, social workers and a consulting physician. Founded in 1989, Small Wonder Preschool is located in Glendale, N.Y.
