Upon recently adopting a dog from the ASPCA, we were sent to this vet through the adoption agency. When we took the dog for her first check up, the vet lied about the prevalence and details of three unnecessary and unsafe vaccines. The vet also insisted the puppy needed a $26 de-worming pill despite the fact that the puppy was de-wormed when we got her and is already on heartworm medicine. When we called and left messages for the vet regarding the vaccines and pills, our calls were never returned. The argumentative, uneducated and self-righteous office staff told me the vet was busy and didn't have time to address my concerns. We had to take the puppy back to be spayed the following week (due to ASPCA contract) and not only was the scar from the surgery so badly butchered and oozing with bloood from the staples but I was never given complete discharge information on how to take care of her post-surgery. The unorganized office staff mistakenly gave me the wrong invoice which said "cash paid, zero balance" and told me to have a nice day. I assumed my husband had paid the invoice when he dropped her off that morning and thought nothing of it and left. While the vet's office NEVER once called me back regarding any of the THREE messages that we had left, they began calling 3 to 4 times a day leaving harrassing message that I "stole the wrong invoice" and need to drive back there to pay them. The big sign on the desk states "payment due at time of service", the receptionist (NICOLE HARRINGTON) never aknowleged she made a mistake and yelled and screamed at me on the phone that I must come in ASAP to pay the $61 or she would report me to collections. I explained to her that i would gladly pay the $61 if she would have the vet call me back to address the questions I had...the receptionist (Nicole) screamed at me on the phone that I am "making no sense, listen to yourself!!" and HUNG UP ON ME.
On top of everything, the place is small, dirty and unkempt. There were papers everywhere, cats laying all over the "office" and there was urine on the floor that had clearly been there a while. The place reeked of urine and mold and was filthy, they should not be allowed to do any type of surgery in an environment that disgusting.
DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!!!

Provided by YP.comI had scheduled for my kitten to be neutered here which we had to pre-pay for. The morning of the surgery we were all too sick to leave the house so I called first thing to reschedule. I didn't get through for the first hour and half they were supposed to be opened. When I finally did get through, I was told that they would not refund or reschedule my appointment due to their "no refund without 24 hour notice policy". Well I went through the contract I signed for this procedure and no where in it is this stated. My boyfriend went to find out why they were holding us to a policy we were never told about and the girl at the front desk could find absolutely nothing that they had which informed clients of that policy. We talked to someone else today who said that we would have been told when we made the appointment, which we were not! We just wanted to reschedule, but after this, no thank you! She said "your money is gone" and that we were both liars for saying that we weren't informed of their policy.
So be warned- they will not give you the benefit of the doubt. They will take your money for providing NO service and then call you a liar for not being informed of a policy that they don't even have in writing.

Provided by YP.comIF YOU HAVE PET RATS DO NOT COME HERE!
Dr. Haring claims to be 'experienced' with rats, however this 'experience' is limited to her pets at home. She may be a good vet when it comes to normal pets, but exotic animals require special training that she simply lacks.
We went for a check up she said our rat was perfectly healthy (which she was, she was just had a tiny bit of poriphyn build up), yet the vet prescribed antibiotics and eyedrops anyway (maybe this is her go-to medicine for everything?). I decided to try out the antibiotics the next day, as the poriphyn had increased (this could have been aftermath of the stress of going to the vet). I gave her a single dose of one of the antibiotics, and a couple hours later noticed that she had become lethargic. I cuddled and tried to care for her all night, and on our way to the hospital in the morning she died.
MY PERFECTLY HEALTHY RAT DIED from the prescribed medicine. We went to see a different vet to determine the cause of death, and he was surprised that the dosage of the antibiotic cocktail wasn't printed on the bag. We went to complain to the people at For Pets Sake, and they didn't really know what to say, but offered a refund in exchange for the medicine they gave us (go figure). There was no way to test the syringe for the exact dosage cocktail and make sure they didn't overdose it by accident - so we can't really hold them accountable for that. They are sticking to calling it an allergic reaction - again, no way to tell, but I researched common allergic reactions in rats and came up with nothing regarding these antibiotics. Either way, we were not informed of the potential side effects of the drugs prescribed, or the actions to take if the side effects actually occured.
I get it, mistakes happen - but seriously, don't risk it. Take your rats to a vet who actually knows what they're doing.

Provided by YP.comI am a farmer and as we all know people constantly dump cats at farms. My farm was becoming overwhelmed with stray cats. I did not have the money to spend $150-$200 per cat to spay/neuter. I called around to various hospitals and they all were extremely rude. No one understood my financial struggle....until I reached out to For Pets Sake. The staff was very kind and understanding. They thanked me for the good deed I was doing. Dr.Haring has an incredible affordable spay/neuter clinic. For the male cat it was only $45 which included a physical, pain control and rabies vaccine. For the female cat it was $80 which included a physical, pain control and rabies vaccine. I am so thankful that there is a vet hospital in the area that is here to actually help animals and not to just make a profit. Thank you so much Dr.Haring and her staff you are all wonderful!

Provided by YP.comI have been a client at For Pet's Sake for 8 years. Dr. Haring has helped me through various illnesses and issues with my dogs over the years. She is an amazing, knowledgeable, caring, compassionate person whose love for all animals is evident. She treats my animals like they are her own and has even taken my dogs home with her overnight when they have been too sick to stay at the clinic. I have never met a vet who has done that before. She has called me at 10:00 at night after working all day to see how my dog is doing and to tell me some information that she has researched or a specialist she has talked to. She goes above and beyond on a daily basis and she has saved the life of more than one of my dogs. Not one of my dogs has ever been afraid to go see her. As a matter of fact, 2 of my dogs have practically yanked my arm off to get into the office! Dr. Haring's heart is always in the right place and I think that people have tried to take advantage of that. She has a business to run and has to follow certain procedures. But when push comes to shove- she will do anything to save the life of an animal and to stop the overpopulation of our country with stray dogs and cats. Don't let a few negative reviews of people who didn't follow the rules or read the fine print sway you. Dr. Haring is top notch and will always have the best interest of your pet at heart. Isn't that what we all want for our animals?!

Provided by YP.comI have been to many veterinary practices due to moving around the country for my husbands work. This is by far one of the best I have been to. The staff was always staying in contact with me when I kept my dog there overnight for a problem he had. Their prices are cheap and they do a very good job.

Provided by YP.comMy cat was very ill and could not eat on his own. He spent over two weeks with Dr. Haring and the staff until he was strong enough to come home for his medical treatment with me. The staff kept me involved and informed every day and when I needed to cry they listened patiently. I even got to feel like one of the family when I would go to visit my cat. The place is adorable and feels like a home. My mom brings her two dogs to Dr. Haring and they actually pull to get inside to visit everyone. The staff knows all of our animals really well and it shows. I would highly recommend anyone to use Dr. Haring if they want someone to truly care about the health of their pet.

Provided by YP.comDr. Haring and her staff run a small but very busy animal clinic which is devoted to assisting their patients. I have been taking my several cats and dog to Dr. Haring since 2006 and can't sing her praises enough. She is devoted to making sure she finds the best options for my pets. I am always given all of the options from the simplest and most affordable to the most involved and expensive options. I never feel pushed to make decisions. The entire staff takes the time to educate me on practicing preventitive medicine at its best. Dr. Haring has been working with local rescues and shelters and promotes spay/neuter programs to help decrease the stray populations. I find the staff refreshing and fun. They have a relaxed and home like atmosphere that my cats are comfortable in and my dog actually runs in and greets everyone. My dog used to shake through his entire vet visit before meeting Dr. Haring and her staff. I urge anyone who loves their pet to give For Pet's Sake a chance.
