WORST HOSPITAL

I'm an 18 year old mother. I been to st. Elizabeth hospital for about 6 times all for the same reason ( pain in my stomach and vomiting) they always said I had the common "stomach virus" that's lasts 24 hours and there is no treatment or medicine and sent me home after waiting for 3 hours and seeing the actual doctor for 3 minutes. 2 weeks later I was removed from work and transported to the baron rouge general. Turns out I had gallstones and needed an EMERGANCY GALL BLADDER REMOVAL . I would rather go in the ambulance in pain and drive for an hour to another hospital than go to st Elizabeth's. Don't go there. Take the interstate right by it and get off at Essen to go to our lady of the lake or baton rouge general it may take 20 min. But it could save your life.

New renovations but same rudeness & uncaring attitude

Went to the ER one night for a painful condition ... First, I had to wait for several hour w/ pain level of 7. Then I was greeted by a rude nurse, who told me that its probably just a common incident and disregarded my previous history and walked out as I was talking... Needless to say, I was stuck with a $500 bill and prescription for antibiotics. Early in the morning, I went to Oschner for proper tests and treatment, for something 'not common.' I should have listened to friends/acquaintances....One of which, who told me how her friend had been admitted for a heart condition & the nurse tried to give her a med for another condition...."Oops wrong chart."

Dissatisfied Customer

I was rushed to the hospital with a head injury. When my husband and I arrived the gentleman in the parking lot immediately came up to the car, as if he knew we were in need of a wheel chair. I had fallen at home and literally hit my head on a marble floor. When we walked in there were three african american ladies that never acknowledged us. My husband, who has a deep baritone voice said excuse me my wife is injured can we get some help. One of them, with attitude began to slowly ask for personal information. She acted as if we were interrupting her little gossip fest. The tech that was to take vital signs was slowful as well. Keep in mind there was one patient before us. They actually asked the tech to take me first that they would wait. He refused. We actually left, frightened and upset. It's not like a head injury should be taken lightly. We are not originally from the area so we just headed to baton rouge in hopes of finding a hospital. We came to Baton Rouge General. The service from the curbside to the bedside was impeccable and more what we are accustomed to in our home state. They immediately took me to the back and they had more than two patients that night. They offered beverages and made sure we were comfortable. The service from start to finish was second to none.

Strangely enough we went out to get a bite to eat several weeks after and our waiter explained that her father has lukemia. She indicated that he has to get blood once a month. They went to this hospital and her father who actually will have to have a bone marrow transplant, was told you are not the only patient here. Well I'm sure he knew that but every patient is supposed to be made to feel as if they are the most important patient in the building. She said on another ocassion her father went to get blood and he was made to wait seven hours for his blood. That is absolutely horrible. Do they not teach bedside manners at this hospital. This is their chosen profession and if they don't want to be there they should resign and save everyone the misery. The sad part about our situation they allowed us to leave angry, afraid and upset and NO ONE attempted to prevent us from leaving nor did they apologize for their rude behavior.
