It is approaching the eighth year since the death of my 35 year old son that occurred only a few hours from a visit at the West Valley ER department. Presented with days of vomiting and diarrhea. Having chest and back pain, swollen tongue. Seen by a PA that was the wife of the ER charge doctor. Seen by several nurses and then the PA. My son told my the only doctor that examined him was this lady. He thought she was a DR. The records had the DR signature on them. He didn't see my son or he would have told us. No tests, No EKG for chest and back pain. No lab work to check his chemistry. Diagnosed with Gastritis. Collapsed in his home with heat attack. a few hours later. There were underlying issues that could have Easley been found and treated to prevent this death of young 35 year old that believed the PA that he would be alright. He lived alone so no one was there to help him. Just another bad experience at this hospital ER.

Went to the E.R. for horrific back pain pinching my sciatica nerve. The intake Rn came across apathetic to my problem. When asked how tall and how much I weighed I wasn't sure, she just guessed as I noticed a scale with the height bar attached to it right behind her. I was in so much pain I didn't care.
I was met with a friendly young man who introduced himself by his first and last name. He said I needed x-rays which I complied. He had the nurse give me a pain shot and gave me scripts for a muscle relaxer, and ibuprofen, instructed to see my primary doc.
When I got home, I realized from the script this guy was a physicians assistant and not a medical doctor which made sense why he introduced himself with his name and not "Dr." I took the muscle relaxer and made my pain worse if that was even possible.
Next day I saw the report of my x-rays. A few days later the pain was so unbearable that I had to go to the E.R again, but, this time I went to a different hospital and was actually seen by a medical doctor who explained to me why the muscle relaxant didn't work and why it made it worse. He prescribed me the correct pain medication that indeed helped get the "edge" off so I could get to my primary and have an MRI done.
I will never go to this facility ever again!!!!!!
Medical doctors and or residents should be the ONLY ones to see people in the E.R. Leave the physician assistants in doctors office where they can be monitored better. Not something that a hospital should "cut" back on to save money.

I would suggest this hospital take pride in employing the most arrogant, cavalier, people in the world when in comes to the administration of this hospital.I was very concerned about the level of care I was receiving while in this hospital. I requested a meeting with someone from administration, that's were I met a women whom stated she was a member of the body running Abrazo West. The meeting was a "JOKE" she could have cared less about my concerns. All she could tell me was that the CEO of the hospital wanted every one to smile. I would suggest the CEO of this hospital has his head in the "SAND' I think he wants to be told every thing is just fine, not what really is going on! We found this hospital to appear as it was grossly understaffed,my RN had a patient load of 18. The PAC working with her was just finishing a 7 day work schedule of 12 hour days. After being released it has been a nightmare attempting to get the hospital to release very badly need records for further follow up.

Worst ED ever been to. Staff rude and I never was touched or examined. Was accused of drug seeking. Told I was fine. Left there went to doctors. Diagnoised with Bulging Disk got lidocaine and steroid shots. The Doctors office gave me diagnosis. And I never did get pain meds from anyone. NOT what I wanted after 24 of agony I found out what was WRONG! Horrid ED stay away. PS ICU and previous ED RN so I am not saying this lightly. If a dr doesnt examine you they can seriously misdiagnois. Stay clear of ED

Horrible labor experience!

This nurse named Kimberly made me feel like me and my baby we're going to die from her lack of care! Management came and talked to me but didn't do anything About it! Do not deliver your baby at that hospital!!!!! Please don't!

Has CID put in

Check in went fast and everybody was helpfull. Prep went well everybody was respectfull. Surgery staff was nice and I was really scared and they help me to calm down. After surgery they were very good. My nurses and PA s during my stay we're very attentive and help my daughter who stayed the night with me. They made sure she was comfortable . My only complaint was my check out was kinda crazy. Nobody knew what the other was doing. I did not get to talk to a doctor and it was confusing. That is the only thing I would like to see improved

Worst hospital experiences ever. Four out of four experiences have been horrible. Had my opinion been asked I would have told the people I love to never even consider entering this facility. The staff is disrespectful. I ask myself where this hospital finds their staff. They have to recruit employees who cannot find employment elsewhere.

Great Labor and Delivery Staff.

We had our second child delivered at this hospital, and we were very happy with the staff and service provided. All the nurses are friendly, nice, caring, and knowledgeable. They always be there when you call them and need them. They know how to respect your privacy, let you rest, and only come by when they have to do routine checks, or when you call them. The hospital provide meals (yes, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for the Mom and whoever the caregiver for free, and the foods are very good.We really like this hospital, and we would recommend to anyone.

Visitor

I recently visted your facility late one evening to pick up a family member and was very impressed on the cleanliness of your facility. Your floors shine like glass. I believe this leaves a good impression due to the fact that it is very welcoming coming in to such a clean facility. It also makes a person feel that when it is clean like this your patient care is just as good. Your housekeeping department is doing a wonderful job.

Awesome Labor and Delivery Staff

I had my first bby at this hospital in Sept of 2008. The staff was amazing!!!! I wasn't treated as a number and my husband and I both received personal attention as if we were the only people there! It was a refreshing experience in comparison to the horror stories I've heard about other hospitals.

Changes

This hospital needs to treat it's staff and patients better. Major changes need to happen.
