TVGH has been open for over 26 years now. The same Administrator and Director of Nursing have been there since the beginning. The staff has little turnover. All the families love the staff, because the families know how well the staff cares for their family members. This is not a facility, it is truly a place where a senior can make a second home when they need assistance to round the clock care. There is a chef on staff who ensures the meals are outstanding and homemade. TVGH is truly worth checking out.

Have had a parent there for over a year. Parent has made friends and is doing very well, and very well cared for. Management is very responsive to my questions and parent's needs. The small setting is very good for someone with failing memory. "Betty" has issues. That is not our experience at all.

Our experience with my mother has been superlative. Small and intimate - wonderful for someone with declining memory problems. Staff is attentive and patient. She has a spacious private room with bathroom. The facility is lovely, well decorated, and immaculately clean. The residents dress for meals (voluntarily), even breakfast - something we had trouble accomplishing at home. She is treated with dignity, well fed, and enjoys her activities. Staff takes her to hair and doctor appointments. She has made friends among the other residents. I visit regularly at irregular times and days, and am pleased at what I see. The administration is extremely responsive to any concerns.

(The naysayer out there must have a personal grudge -- his comments are ridiculous)

The Village at Gordon House is a wonderful place to live. The residents become a part of your family. We are all one happy group. The staff receives at least 90% more training than is required by the state. Look up the licensing survey and you will personally see from the rating what an outstanding facility it is. Call the licensing survey person that licenses the facility and hear what she personally would say about the facility as a whole.

This place is the pitts, it has pathetic food and has staff that constantly misuses funds and no equipment for the people who live there. If you want to give your money away here is a good place to give it since the care is pathetic.They hire only the low end people who have no idea what they are doing and the upper management is BS. If you want to live in a stinky moldy basement and inhale the toxins then take Mom or Dad there to live.I wouldn't even bother rating this at all since it has no rating!
