Exacto Spring is a manufacturer of custom, precision compression springs. Compression springs are open-coil helical springs that offer resistance to compression forces applied axially. They are usually coiled as a constant-diameter cylinder. Other common shapes for compression springs include conical, Contact Exacto Spring concave (hourglass), convex (barrel) and various combinations of these as required by the compression spring application. The applications the springs are used for are as widespread as the company s sizes, ranging from hearing aides to shafts on farm implements. While square, rectangular or special-section wire may have to be specified, round wire is predominant from Exacto Spring because it is readily available and adaptable to standard coiler tooling.
