Beaver Island State Park, located in Grand Island, N.Y., is a park and recreational facility. Its 950-acre facility has a half-mile sandy beach for swimming, adjacent 80 slip marina with seasonal and transient boat slips, fishing access, bike and nature trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, athletic fields and horseshoe pits. It also has an 18-hole golf course and a historic home that was the summer residence of President Cleveland. The park is operated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The park offers beach biking, food, a nature trail, pavilions and picnic tables, playgrounds and recreational programs and snowshoeing cross-country skiing. Its winter programs include sledding snowmobile, and ice fishing and hunting. It has a clubhouse that provides banquet and catering facilities and organizes various events, such as Earth Day celebrations and Birding on the River.
