Ryan Powell, L.Ac., MSOM J. Ryan Powell is the Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and owner of Acupuncture Solutions. Ryan is nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of Colorado. In addition, Ryan is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado and the American Acupuncture Council. Ryan studied Traditional Chinese Medicine for four years while attending Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder Colorado. He graduated with a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) in 2007. His education includes 3000 hours of class instruction, as well as over 2000 hours of clinical practice. After graduation, Ryan traveled to Beijing, China to further his knowledge of Chinese Medicine and Culture. He regularly attends continuing education classes to further his knowledge, and to stay current in the medical field. Ryan has studied the works of Kiiko Matsumoto, a world renowned Japanese Acupuncturist, and Datis Kharrazian, a very well respected neuroscientist and researcher who is at the forefront of functional medicine. Ryan practices a classical form of acupuncture that relies on balancing the bodys meridians, or channels of nourishing energy. He has a full herbal pharmacy and only uses the highest quality herbs available. Additional techniques include auricular (ear) therapy, dietary management, and Asian bodywork. His patients are people of all ages and backgrounds. Although Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete health care system, Ryan has a great deal of clinical experience working with: the elderly, chronic back and neck problems, insomnia, weight loss, thyroid disorders, and autoimmune diseases. Careful diagnosis allows treatments to be tailored to address the underlying cause of disease or dysfunction. Although ultimately we are all responsible for our own healing, a series of treatments often results in permanent elimination of symptoms. Ryan has studied martial arts for years, and practices qi gong on a daily basis. Besides the practice and study of Traditional Medicine, Ryan also enjoys hiking, biking, music, and the Colorado outdoors.
