The airport is designated in the FAA National Plan of Integrated Airport System and the Texas Aeronautical Facilities Plan. The airport handles planes ranging from small piston planes to large business turboprop aircraft and helicopters. It lies three miles southwest of downtown. Tie-down space and FBO services are available. There are 227 individual T-hangars at the airport. The new terminal is now open during the operating hours for the restaurant. Construction of a new Air Traffic Control Tower is planned for 2012.
