Provided by YP.comMy experience was good at first and them it went to hell after that, they never fixed anything and I was pregnant and I had high blood pressure and he gave a 30 days to move out and it was so stressful I have my baby early and month and a week early, there don't care about nothing but yo money horrible people

Provided by YP.comI rented from Beckett with two roommates my senior year of college. It was BY FAR the worst rental experience I have ever had. We had someone break into our house (which is obviously not their fault) and then they refused to help fix the broken windows and doors even though we had a police report. Any time we had any sort of maintenance request, they were quick to arrive, but then the very same thing would be broken the next day. Our house was poorly insulated, the floors were uneven, and every room was poorly ventilated which caused mold problems.
Aside from the problems with the house, the management CONSTANTLY charged us extra rent and late fees which were unjustified. I would have to call several times and then all of the agents would say something along the lines of "Oh yeah, that shouldn't be on there." OR "yeah, I'm not sure why we charged you for that." We got maybe 1/8th of our deposit back because they charged us for all the damages they never fixed from our break in. However, we were so happy to be out that we cut our losses.
DO NOT RENT FROM BECKETT.

Provided by YPmobileI've been a tenant for 2 1/2 years now and its hard to find another rental place as good as the Becketts. . .the secretary is friendly and it always smells good in their office.
Every time we have a problem big or small, they send someone to fix it right away. That is pretty good considering alot of landlords dont care or are not on top of your needs for the house your paying rent to live in. I wish they had more properties available as our family is growing.
I would definitely recommend them to my friends or family!!!

Provided by YP.comI sent in a application after being re-assured they could help me, 12 days later I have yet to hear from any of them. I've sent a few e-mails and have called the office. That day (Almost a week later that had not even looked at my app.) The woman who answered tried her hardest to push me into coming down there that day to drop off a deposit on a property that had just been turned over, sight unseen. I'm still waiting to hear back.. (Magically, they quickly took the 50.00 deposit needed to process the application.) Rip off.

Provided by YP.comWell I have to laugh at the crap Josh Beckett shoves down the throats of the news interviewers. He tells Henry Erb: " ....they are nearly caught up on repairs to all their properties. He said they are nearly finished rehabbing the properties they bought, some of which he said were in poor shape." Thats nuts. The homes he bought are, were, and continue to be, in crappy shape. His rehab skills are shoddy and lacking as evidenced by all those fines from the City of GR.
This jokester could not rehab a home properly if you gave him the money to do it. And, (that) is exactly what a bunch of scammed investors did. Josh once tried to get me and some other investors to invest. He told us that starting in 2008, other investors gave Josh Beckett (aka Beckett Investment Group) as much as $5million to buy homes, rehab, and then rent out. $5,000,000 he talked out of some 25 or 30 investors! ! ! Ouch!
The money he took from the investors is supposed to be paid back at a rate of 10% simple interest over 5 years and then the investor will also be paid back his original investment plus an additional piece of whatever the property sells for.
Problem is, Josh never told the investors he was going to chase after his own misguided dreams of starting "other" companies with their funds while attempting to buy, fix, and rent homes simultaneously. And, thats FRAUD.
The SCAM is that Josh Beckett bought not only homes with investors monies but he also started OTHER companies and paid for staff to run those OTHER companies. He rented office suites, bought equipment, desks, tables, cell phones, chairs, computers, web sites, brochures, business cards, booths at trade shows, vehicles, and on and on until the original $5million plus much of the rental cash flow was spent and there was not enough left over to rehab the homes he bought nor was there enough to save for all of the scammed investors. THATS why he ran out of money. Not because he bought too many homes but because he is a fiscal scam artist who cannot balance a checkbook to save his soul.
If I were an investor I would demand my entire investment back NOW. The PONZI part is that while Josh is paying (some) investors back, he does not have enough in reserves to meet the promise of paying back 10% simple interest which, by all calculations, should be roughly $1,000,000 - $1,400,000 in cash somewhere. After 5 years are up, the crying will start and investors will be truely aware of what happened for the past two years of reckless spending on dumb company start-ups.
He was supposed to pay the investors back with rent from the homes the investors entrusted to Josh Beckett, Mike Beckett, Robin Beckett and Anna Beckett.
Instead Josh used those funds to start these companies:
Beckett Realty LLC
Beckett Construction LLC
Beckett Home Improvement LLC
Beckett Home Improvement & Supply LLC
Beckett Property Management LLC
Beckett Investments LLC
and other hair brained, soaked in red ink, stupid idea companies. Not one single company was profitable. All were started and funded with co-mingled money. NONE of these companies were self sustaining.
When the FEDS finally figure out where all that co-mingled money went , Josh and the rest of his minions better say goodby to the cushy life because judges and the general public do not like PONZI schemes.
So when Josh says he bought too many homes, thats BULL CRAP. He SPENT too much of other peoples money on things he should not have. And thats the truth. And thats what is sinking his ship.

Lets write a bad review of the company and blame the insulation!! Next time, just a thought, lets keep the heat below 90 degrees! Wear clothes appropriate for the time of year it is.....etc. I know, its out there! Way to go! Great review!

Provided by YP.comMoved out as quickly as possible leaving my deposit behind....my loss, but really, my GAIN ! ! ! I would have dumped probably $200+ per month in heat if I had stayed. I argued the place was chewing up my utility bill money at a rapid pace due to inadequate insullation and windows ---- which were leaking ALL the heat. Everything is held together with layers of paint upon layers of paint. And they call that "renovation"??? I call it CHEAP ! Most people don't think about how expensive renting one of these old homes with old windows and zero insullation can be. I can find a better place to stay simply by hitting craigs list or the local yellow pages. My apartment now has a pool and I pay LESS for two bedrooms than I was in their leaky home.
