Northern Hills Middle School enrolls more than 470 students in grades seven and eight. Its academic curriculum includes classes in a variety of subjects, such as reading, writing, language arts, social studies, technology, media, math and science, as well as French and Spanish. The school s students participate in a range of sports activities, including basketball, cross-country, tennis, swimming, soccer, wrestling, volleyball, and track and field. Northern Hills Middle School also offers band, choir, orchestra, and physical and health education programs. In addition, the school administers the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. It is a part of Forest Hill Public Schools, which also operates several other schools. Northern Hills Middle School is located in Grand Rapids, Mich.
