My son had an appointment with Dr. Bosler (female) yesterday afternoon. I cannot even begin to describe to lack of professionalism that prevailed in this office.
First, we showed up early for the appointment. We walked in and there were no customers at the desk, but there were 2 women behind the desk. One woman was on the phone with an obvious personal phone call. She was talking about a personal event, what to wear, what time, kids and ending the call with an 'I love you'
The other woman appeared to be working, but did not even acknowledge our presence. We stood for 5 minutes without being told so much as "I will be with you in one moment"
Another customer that was waiting in the line (that had accumulated behind me while the desk workers were being rude) walked away from the desk after checking in verbally complaining about the wait while listening to the woman at the desk go on and on during her personal phone call. So, it wasn't just me that saw this as a problem.
After we were checked in, we sat waiting while overhearing Dr. Bosler talk of how she needed wine and it was definitely a wine night.
The technician did a great job. My son is a normal 6 year old boy and was tired and being a little difficult. Yet she maintained her composure and professionalism. She handled it with a smile on her face.
So things looked to be not so bad after the technician. That is until we called back to see Dr. Bosley. Her stature was as if she were annoyed to have to do her job. She was impatient, refused to make eye conduct, and very short and abrubt when she spoke. Not to mention, my son's eyes were not even fully dialated from the drops when she proceeded with the exam. In fact, I checked my son's eyes on the way out of the clinic and his left eye was fully dilated but his right eye still had not dilated at all. We were outside in broad daylight and his right pupil was as small as mine while the left was as big as his whole eye. This makes me question whether or not the Dr. actually did a thorough exam or just went through the motions.
Also, my son had read one of the letters wrong on the line - repeatedly. She just proceeded as if that were not the case. And it was a big difference. The letter was a F, he kept saying R. My son is old enough to know his letters and is very intelligent. Instead of elimatinating the possibility that other variables other than his sight were the cause for this (by using alternate letter slides), she just assumed that something other was to blame and proceeded without hesitation. This is not very scientific and not very accurate. I'm sure that they are taught different in school and training. Not to mention that after my son read the line once, he had memorized it and was even repeating the letter sequence when she wasn't even asking and without looking. Yet, she STILL did not attempt to change the letter slide for thoroughness.
They even forgot to give my son the disposable dark glasses for my son's dilated pupil. I had to ask for them before we walked out the door.
I will never return to this clinic and if I had my way, I would request that my insurance company NOT PAY for this visit. Very unprofessional all around. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE IF YOU CAN HELP IT!!
