Today Jared lost what would have been a definite sale because of their terrible service. My boyfriend and I went in looking for ring settings a couple of weeks ago, letting the sales person know that I have a family diamond I want to use. We found one we loved and asked if someone could write down the item number so we could reference it while out shopping and comparing. Instead, she wrote down his name and contact information, and that was it. No one asked me for my information, despite the fact that we were there together discussing what could potentially be my ring. I called two days later to get the item number I asked for in the first place, and no one (even the salesperson who helped us) had any idea who I was or what I was talking about because no one bothered to even ask me for my name. We want to feel like valued customers and our experience left us feeling like they just don't care. I finally was able to get the item number when I brought up my boyfriend's name, but I did not feel good about the conversation and the way I was treated. We went in today to talk to a manager about how we both felt about the situation, and he was kind of defensive but somewhat apologetic, and we still didn't feel great about it. The manager then went to get the potential customer paperwork that was initially filled out to add my name to it, and when I had called, someone apparently did add my name but got my name very wrong. We fixed the name, added my ring size to the information, and left feeling undecided as to whether or not to give the store our business.

Shortly after we left the store, my boyfriend got a voicemail from our original salesperson about a sales event that was happening today that no one bothered to tell us about when we were at the store. She went on about how he could earn credit with this weekend's purchase to use toward his next purchase, and how he could save a lot of money. She said she "looked over the paperwork" and suggested they could ring up the diamond first and he could use the credit toward the ring. Clearly she did not listen to a word we said, because we could not have made it more clear that I already have a diamond. That was the clincher. They don't listen.

Because of this experience, we will be going elsewhere to get our rings, where they treat people like valued customers and actually listen to them.
