I was previously a nail tech and I'm extremely fussy. We had newly moved to the area and I out some feelers out for the best nail salon in the area. Received several recommendations for Nailcessity. Each person that recommended them also recommended 'Q' as the go-to tech at the salon. (I later found out his is the owner.) I set up an appointment for acrylic and haven't looked back since. You won't find any thick, uneven nails with him. My nails looked very natural and perfectly shaped. About 4 months ago I switched it up and started doing shellac instead and I'm hooked! I cannot believe how good my nails look! Highly recommend Q. He's super talented at his craft!

My Favorite New Nail Salon

The short version: GO.

The Details:

A friend of mine got a full set of nails here a few weeks ago, and I was so impressed, I told her I wanted to go with her when she went for her fill and get a set myself.

So on a cold rainy Sunday, we arrived.
The first thing I noticed was the interior design. It's classy, original...
You won't see any cheesy posters of over-the-top airbrushed nails, or anything else that looks like it's from a bad 80's video - the atmosphere is relaxing - from the large comfortable waiting area (complete with a full candy dish!) to the rich fabric drapes separating the pedicure chairs.

The man who did my full set is named Q. He's hilarious - open - friendly - talented - the time just flew. I got a full set of nails. The service included a free french manicure air brushing -- and after that, he applied a shimmery OPi (Princess Rule) on the lower half of my nails at my request. (Freehand - perfectly!)

I didn't find out that Q. was the owner of Nailcessity until my session was almost over.

If you've been looking for a nail salon that really cares about customer satisfaction, and has talented nail techs who are on top of their game, you really owe it to yourself to give this salon a try. I was completely blown away.

My first time having my nails done. The tech asked me if I wanted Acrylic or Gel and I said which ever is better. She said Gel is but it costs more. I said that was OK lets do Gel. I received Acrylic and paid for Gel. I was lied to because I didn't know better. The white powder is Acrylic!!!

Horrible Experience

I had heard good things about this nail salon from a few different people. I am a salon professional, and I am very particular in the care of my nails. Since my nail technician is in Europe I decided to give it a try. Tom, my "technician" hadn't even taken my appointment down (I called the day before). The girl that was removing my previous shellac scraped my natural nail and left a gouge. When Tom finally started his work I was not impressed. To make a long story short, DO NOT go there. It is full of highly unskilled technicians.

REQUEST "Q"!

I came in bright and early Friday morning because I had a wedding to go to. I'm a nail biter so needed a full set done. I normally go to the nail salon in the mall but I stopped in for some coffee at biggby and saw Nailcessity right next door. I thought what a clever name with a nail polish bottle as their logo! I normally don't write reviews for any place but I have to share my great experience with you all. Q is who worked on my nails and I have to say that he is very personable. He truly knows what he is doing unlike the workers in the mall. He took his time and was very careful with my nails. Besides the remarkable job he did, the salon itself is very nice!

Honesty is the best policy!

I went in Saturday evening for a Pink & White set. It was quite busy when i came in. The owner was very honest in letting me know that it was going to be about a 25-30 minute wait. Just because I waited, he gave me an additional 10% off on top of the 20% off grand opening special they were having. I thought it was very fair because I was going to wait any way to try out the new place. In the end, i am satisfied with their work and now i will be a regular client. : )
