Madison County Transit, also known as the Madison County Mass Transit District, provides a range of fixed route bus services in Madison County in Illinois. It serves more than 8,000 riders each day and maintains a fleet of over 70 buses. The district s buses are equipped with lifts and seating space for wheelchairs. Established in 1980, Madison County Transit operates the Agency for Community Transit, which offers paratransit bus services for senior citizens and disabled people. It also administers MCT Trails, which oversees transportation activities in nearly 85 miles of bikeways. The district s RideFinders is a free public service for employers and commuters working in St. Louis City and St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson and Franklin counties in Missouri; and Madison, St. Clair and Monroe counties in Illinois.
