In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am - we've got something for everyone. Enjoy your meal in our family-friendly, cabin-themed diner with our welcoming staff or order to enjoy in the comfort of your home.

The food and service are terrible! The only reason it's busy is because of all the hotels/motels within walking distance; plus it's right off the freeway.

Great food in great portions

And u cannot beat the price. I had the hungry man steak breakfast. Now this plate came with a big 10 oz steak that was probably closer to 14 oz. Seriously! And it came with 3 eggs and hashbrowns and a biscuit. The plates are huge and anywhere else this plate could have been a 17-18 dollar plate or more. The plate here was only 11 bucks! What a deal and it was delicious. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because my steak was undercooked. I ordered it medium but ended up getting it more like rare. But other that that service was great, employees were friendly, and it was very clean. Hope this helps in ur decision to dine here
