Provided by YP.comBought my first Journey Homes house in 2008, and had nothing but problems with them. Only after I got the VA involved, did they fix the most pressing issues. Later I got married and this year my wife wanted to buy an investment property. Against my better judgement I decided to give them another chance. BAD MISTAKE!!! If anything, they are WORSE THAN BEFORE!!! Clearly, they are a bunch of unprofessional people slapping houses together with the cheapest of products (i.e. reconstituted 2x4 studs) and contractors with no pride in what they do. They seem to view their customers as inconvenient obstacles to making money, rather than the employers they work for. They even went as far as charging us for required add-ons that the house didn't support, then tried to short us hundreds of dollars on the refund check we demanded at closing. It would have been best for the owner to have allowed the company to fall into bankruptcy, rather than bailing it out. The time and money that you will need to put into completing the work and repairing their blunders after closing is substantial! The short of it is this: BUYING A JOURNEY HOME IS A JOURNEY YOU DON'T WANT TO EMBARK ON!!!

Provided by YPmobileThey put them up fast but poorly. All my neighbors have issues and not small ones but definitely avoidable ones. They skimp on everything. Their finish carpentry is some of the worst in the business. It really is sad when your own contractors rip you as well. Buyers beware! We will sell when we can escape capital gains.

Provided by YP.comDo not buy from these people unless you want tens of thousands of dollars in repairs to your five year old house. My windows leak, I had to have mud jackers fix my garage and driveway, my yard has continued to sink over four inches, cracking walls, nails falling out of ceilings, floor in lower level is sinking in one area and rising in another. And these are just the things I can remember off the top of my head! Larry Buckendorf, owner, will lie to the courts saying that he didn't build the homes when you try to sue. (He got it thrown out even before the court date, he is after all a lawyer and knows how to work the system.) My hope is that every problem I have with my home, will happen to his... but chances are, he doesn't live in a Journey Home.
