The hardest part about therapy is having to deal with those thoughts, feelings, and memories we've been pushing aside for so long. What makes it even harder, are our fears of being judged for who we are, what we've gone through, or how we've acted. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being your true self. I do this by showing you genuine compassion, empathy, and understanding as we work through the tougher stuff. As such, I work with children, teens, families, and adults whose social, academic/work, behavioral, physical, and/or emotional well-being has been negatively impacted by ongoing mental health struggles. While I am a nationally certified trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapist, I also incorporate and have completed trainings in the following areas: Brainspotting, shame-resilience, and attachment. Specialty areas: LGBTQ+; sex trafficking; PTSD/trauma; children/teens; relationships; self-harm; shame; sexual assault; and parenting/blended family issues. Many past clients have told me I'm different from other therapists, and I was able to help them in ways none of their previous therapists could. They told me I was the first therapist who truly listened, sought to understand, and didn't judge or try to force my own beliefs on them. If I sound like the kind of therapist you're looking for, please contact me.

Amanda is great at helping with trauma! She is was very open minded and didn't judge. What I really like also is Amanda isn't "fake." She can empathize but doesn't go over the top.

I'm happy I found her! She's the only therapist I've trusted this much.

You can tell she is trauma informed by how she conducts herself.

I highly recommend her!
