Provided by YP.comWe got Royally Cleaned by Royal Cleaners! Beware when you bring garments to a "professional" to have them cleaned. I brought my husband's Arctic Armor Ice Fishing Suit to Royal Cleaners because I wanted to make sure it was properly cleaned. It's a $350.00 suit due to it being buoyant, waterproof and windproof and I didn't want to risk ruining it so I entrusted it to the "professionals." Little did I know that bringing it to a "dry cleaners" doesn't necessarily mean it will be "dry cleaned" but like I said, I trusted them because after all, they are the "professionals." They totally ruined the suit and it no longer even fits my husband and I can't even be sure that the features haven't been compromised. They claim they are not liable since they followed the care instructions on the tags and tried to pass me over to the manufacturer. One of the care tags reads: (Machine Wash Cold or Dry Clean, Do Not Apply Heat) and one of the other care tags reads: (Machine Wash Cold or Dry Clean, Low Heat.) Apparently in Dry Cleaning lingo, Do Not Apply Heat means do not put heat directly on the garment such as pressing which they said they did not do. They claim they machine washed cold and hung in a "warming" room with temperatures ranging from 72-90. I call BS! There is no way that this suit would've shrunk as much as it did if it was simply hung in a warming room to dry. This suit has shrunk so much that it no longer even fits my husband. The jacket used to come down to his crotch and now sits on his waist. The arms don't even cover his wrists, the legs barely rest on the tops of his feet without boots and the crotch rides up like he's auditioning to play Steve Urkel. The inside of the jacket and bibs are completely shriveled and puckered. So I have two questions for them....if the labels contradict themselves, why not contact the customer and ask them how they would like you to proceed? If I would've done this myself at home, I just wouldn't have taken the risk with the heat at all and just hung it to air dry but Royal Cleaners didn't even give me an option and like I said, I assumed it was going to be dry cleaned since I took the suit to a dry cleaners but that's my own stupidity. That was a lesson learned for me. Also, don't they carry insurance for things like this happening? I'm sure it's not the first time right? Just another fine example of a businesses not wanting to back up their service and try to pass the buck to someone else. What ever happened to providing good customer service and being accountable? They are offering me a $90 in store credit! Are you kidding me? Do they think I'd ever go back? Not a chance. I filed a complaint with the BBB on Jan 9th and they've yet to even respond.
