We deeply value our strong relationships with business partners, clients and associates, developed through professionalism and integrity, while supporting a continuous growth culture.1950’s 1950's • 1954: Joe LaForce purchases a hardware supply business in downtown Green Bay, WI. • 1950’s: LaForce shares offices with Vince Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers organization. • 1950’s: Life safety codes are first developed, and steel products are more commonly used in doors and frames. 1960’s • 1960’s: The use of steel for doors and frames continues to gain traction. • 1960’s: LaForce makes investments in bending and cutting machines to manufacture its own custom frames to better meet customers’ needs, later adding its first wood shop. 1970’s • 1971: LaForce rents its first IBM computer. • 1972: Company moves to present location on West Mason Street in Green Bay, WI. • 1974: LaForce lands its first Chicago job. 1980’s • 1980’s: New technology and computers further integrated into business processes, significantly increasing electronic capabilities. • 1980’s: LaForce completes its first customer-requested pre-installation project, which later expanded into its own department and dedicated shop space. • 1980’s: LaForce also completed its first pre-finishing project, which later expanded into its own dedicated shop space. • 1980’s: The three warehouses behind the Green Bay office space became available, so LaForce buys them. • 1989: LaForce opens offices in Milwaukee, WI and Vernon Hills, IL. 1990’s • 1990’s: Environmental standards further integrated into the business with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) designation. • 1990’s: School security becomes a bigger concern and LaForce responds by increasing security options. • 1993: New office location opened in Madison, WI. • 1998: The railroad line dividing the Green Bay office space and warehouse space became obsolete. LaForce purchased the land and built an adjoining building for additional office space. 2000’s • 2000’s: As electrical capabilities grew, LaForce needed a dedicated department for knowledgeable staff members, so established the Security Integration division. • 2000: Architectural Services becomes a new division. • 2001: LaForce establishes a location in Cincinnati, OH. • 2004: A second Chicago area office is opened in Willowbrook, IL. • 2004: LaForce launches an internal Employee Wellness program to promote healthy lifestyle programs and initiatives. • 2004: The second floor of the 1998 addition is finished with offices and workspaces. • 2006: LaForce adds a new location in Detroit, MI. • 2006: The Green Bay location acquired additional shop space behind the current buildings. • 2009: Company opens its Indianapolis, IN location. 2010’s • 2011: LaForce unveils its Phoenix, AZ office. • 2013: The Columbus, OH and Appleton, WI offices are added. • 2013: LaForce launches an internal Volunteer Committee to organize volunteer events and opportunities for employees. • 2014: LaForce opens an office in Austin, TX.
