The Green River Police Department is a full-service, community-oriented law enforcement agency that works to maintain law and order and protect residents lives and their property. It maintains a records division that reports statistics to the FBI through the uniform crime reporting system, maintains personnel s files, assists in the administration of the police department budget and compiles the annual report. The department also operates a communication center that responds to police, fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency calls for service. In addition, the Green River Police Department has animal control, investigation, nuisance enforcement and patrol divisions. It provides emergency management and bicycle registration services. The department administers Crime Stoppers and National Night Out programs. The Green River Police Department also supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, which helps children avoid involvement with drugs, gangs and violence. It is located in Green River, Wyo.
