This store is an aweful place if you are a bird or anything else that is not a fish. I asked them about a year and a half ago what tests they have for their parrots (example pfd and other standard tests) back then it was only cockateils and budgies/parakeets. Since then the store had been closed down once due to their birds having chlamydia. They covered their sign by opening the door so it was obscured by cages and children and adults were peaking in nearly having contact with the birds. And when the store was actually closed? The birds were pushed up against the glass at the front of the store where people were putting their faces up to the glass (which had about half inch gaps in between the glass panes). This store is an awful place run by awful people. Don't support these jerks who show you birds as "pretty things" that don't seem to deserve stimulation (besides gawking people) or toys of any kind. Update: They have expanded to additionally housing conures and lovebirds. Their birds are kind of ratty looking from being kept in close quarters. Birds seem to be fed seed, but are in otherwise okay condition. No toys available to them in their cramped quarters, but food and water seem adequate. No word on their testing standards but would still not support these people. For fish would check out House of Tropicals in Glen Bernie instead (they are extremely reputable in the aquaculture world). Anywhere else for birds.

Only LFS that routinely carries large aggressive species. If you are a monsterfishkeeper this is the only worthwhile place to go in the DC metro area.
