Provided by YPmobileI am not typically a review writer, however, this is the WORST place ever to conduct business with!! I don't recommend this company to anyone. Regardless of how well you maintain leased properties and clean prior to move out...you will NOT get a full deposit back!!! You are expected to get carpet professionally cleaned upon departure as well. This company expects those vacating to be responsible for having the properties in move in condition for the next tenant. I should have read reviews on this company first, I'm pretty sure I would have ran the other way! And another thing, don't expect to reach anyone by phone there!

Provided by YP.comI had my rental properties with Birch. They took over another company, so I did not choose Birich. I had nothing but problems, overcharges and nightmares with this company. Communication was non-existent. I asked to leave their company and they would not release me - and were hostile about it, especially Lee. After threatening with calling the NCRE Commission they finally released my properties. They told me that I did not pay them enough to actually answer my questions and respond to my calls. I have since found a wonderful property management company in High Point. It is not only tenants that get scammed by these group, the owners do as well.

Provided by YP.comSlow to respond to maintenance requests, rude and accusatory staff, shuffles and looses paperwork and vioicemails. Thats MY personal observation of them and its certainly what happened. As with any rental company, do all your homework and research, and by all means, watch for the sneaky stuff.

Provided by YP.comBirch management is a scam artist. Rude secretaries, and management. Not up front with 50.00 app. fee. They deny me because of my income and credit, and denied my fiance because of my income.. Arseholes...Proof of income isn't anything to them. We can pay our bills.. Losing company, I feel nothing or shame for them. They are probably pocketing everyone's money regardless of credit or hoe much you make. They can go to H'll..

Provided by YP.comThis place is a total rip off. They take your 50.00 app. fee and neglect to tell you in advance that if one adult gets rejected, all get rejected. I paid 50.00 app. fee and called office multiple times no answer no callbacks ever after leaving numerous voicemails. They day we walked into their office the receptionist was extremely rude , rolled her eyes at us at one point. I make good money and had references and rental history and proof of income etc. , but since they ran my fiance first she got rejected they automatically rejected me. I knew her income was too low to qualify to begin with but was counting on my app. to make up for that which apparantly they never gave a chance. I hope they are happy with their nice office and their well dressed staff while they are collecting who knows how many app. fees to compensate. bravo Birch I hope you can sleep at night with all the people you rip off.

Provided by YP.comAbout two years ago, this company robbed me of over $500. I wrote a review everywhere on the net I could find to warn people about these crooks, but I see that it has been purged. I'm not going to re-write it, because it makes my blood boil to think about it! I'm responding to this because I think EVERYONE that has this type of encounter with this 'business' needs to follow up with the NC Real Estate Commission. See http://www.ncrec.state.nc.us/. This is the only way this company will be investigated and shut down!!!! They are a very poor excuse for a company!!!!! HORRIBLE! They don't even deserve ONE star!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN AWAY!! HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!

Buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and other persons involved in real estate transactions who believe that they have been defrauded or victimized by the improper or incompetent acts of a real estate broker should report their complaints to the Real Estate Commission." The owner of this company is a real estate broker & these complaints SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE NC REAL ESTATE COMMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!

Provided by YP.comBirch Management is the WORST!!!! They are cowards and overall just very sorry people. My girlfriend moved out after the place was cleaned, after I cleaned all the carpets and not only did she get no deposit back but they charged her $800.00!! For what!? They never came to fix the ceiling in the bathroom which was falling after it was reported twice. These people are horrendous! Stay far away from them! After I cleaned the carpets, they charged another $450.00 to clean them. Who regulates these people? Where can you file a disupte? Surely they wont take the time to talk to ya much less let you have a word to them. They act as if they are judge and jury. Not this time. They messed with the wrong folks and justice shall be had.

Provided by YP.comWe are planning to move from Raleigh to Greensboro, and finding a place to rent through Birch has been difficult. Customer service is not their strong suit. It took a couple of weeks to reach them, as they did not always answer their phones and took a long time to call back. However, we persisted because we really wanted to see a couple of their properties.
It was difficult to see the properties because they only allow showings during normal business hours. Other agencies allowed us to view on weekends, but to see a Birch property my husband had to take time off of work. He had an appointment to see a house at 2:00 pm. However, no one was there to meet him. We were aware that the office would be briefly closed that day (May 24th), but we were told it would only last until 1:30. From 2-2:30 my husband waited at the property, calling every extension at the office with no one answering. Finally, a representative came to meet him, 30 minutes late with no explanation.
It was difficult enough to work around Birch's lack of response and restrictive viewing hours. But when my husband had to take half a day off of work to drive all the way from his job near Rocky Mount, then was kept waiting (he had other houses to view, so time was valuable), we saw this as rude customer service. If it's this hard to be given a chance to rent, how would be treated once we were tenants? We took our business elsewhere, and are now happy with the outcome of choosing another company to rent through.

Provided by YPmobileCustomer service was awful!! Lived in my townhouse a month before I could get mail! Never able to get anyone on the phone and always felt like I was bothering them. Ridiculous move out expectations! Hired someone to clean the property before I left and they still charged outrageous fees, keeping my entire deposit and added a balance to it!!! Nothing but problems from day one! BEWARE!!!

Provided by YP.comWhen my friend was looking for a place the first thing I said was "avoid Birch". When I was looking at properties I left multiple messages with them and never got a response. I had to resort to going to their office in person to make them answer my questions. I also get calls on a regular basis requesting access to the property to perform tasks that I did not request and that are not necessary to the maintenance of the house. I never got a good feeling from them when I was checking places out, they always seemed too busy for me, and now that I've rented through them I wish I had trusted my instinct and stayed away. Whenever I speak with a staff member, I'm always made to feel like I'm bothering them and that I'm not worth their time. If at all possible, go through someone else for a rental. All in all, they really need to improve their customer service.

Provided by YP.comIt is easy for Birch employees to write nasty, inappropriate e-mails to their tenants and then hide in the secrecy of their offices and not return phone calls when questioned. Prospective tenants should not take much stock in the BBB grade, the BBB does not have much interest in "policing" Birch.
