Child Protective Services is a private, nonprofit society that strengthens families and prevents child abuse through welfare and mental health maintenance services and public advocacy. It serves the individual needs of infants, children, adolescents and their families throughout Guilford County, N.C. Child Protective Services offers child abuse and intervention programs, mental health treatment and adoption services. In addition, the division offers day care and after-school programs. It employs a full-time social worker who provides individual and group therapies for children. Located in Greensboro, N.C., Child Protective Services is a division of the Guilford County Department of Social Services.
