Provided by YP.comDo NOT, I repeat, do NOT put anyone that you care anything for in this hellacious place. My mother came out of a 3 week hospital stay to this 'place' for rehab. Cellulitis and swelling in her legs was 1000 times better upon leaving the hospital where she was being treated for bowel blockage which she almost died from. After not even an entire day, we found evidence of neglect, abuse and a total disregard of the issues she needed assistance with. She was strapped into a wheel chair with the wheels locked, her feet and legs left dangling. She could not reach the nurse call button which was on the other side of the room, but even if she had been able to I'm quite certain that no one would have responded. How do I know that, you ask? Her room was within 15 feet of the seemingly well-manned nurses station which I noticed the staff seemed to be enjoying themselves, almost in a party mode, loud and boisterous, but her calls for assistance went unheeded completely, most likely because they didn't care, and/or they were shucking and jiving so loudly, she couldn't be heard. I found her exhausted from trying to get someone to attend to her to help her to the restroom, she was sitting in a diaper that was obviously soiled with dried urine and feces, her legs and feet were swollen and red (we had informed them that her legs were to be elevated at all times, which they assured us they would be) to avoid the issue of swelling and edema. She was to be there for rehabilitation to help her be able to get into and out of her bed. Mama was basically incoherent when I arrived at lunch the day after she was admitted but was able to tell me that a large transvestite nurse was very aggressive in getting her out of the bed and then pushed her back into the bed and continued aggressive treatment with harsh and threatening language in her first day of so-called 'rehabilitation'. I would not consider letting my dog stay here. After discussing the issue with the administrator, who was so nice during the registration process but dismissed my complaints as poppycock when I approached her, I immediately loaded my mother and her clothing and other items up and removed her immediately! The place was nasty, smelled worse than any nursing home I had ever been in, and I should have paid more attention to the other residents who were left out in the hallways, looking unkempt, uncared for, ignored and totally disregarded. NEVER AGAIN will I overlook my first impression of a place like this. Unfortunately, I gave a 1 star rating only because there are no NEGATIVE or Minus stars to select from. I would say on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best score, Heartland deserves a minus 17 and THAT is being generous.
