We paid for "expedited service", and it took them almost 3 months to do a title search. This company was very expensive, and they kept coming up with reasons for delaying our closing and extending the length of time for the process. I had completed a title search on my own (have experience) before consulting attorney for sales agreement and bank for loan. Had all information necessary - it took me TWO HOURS to complete title search! What we didn't know: YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR OWN TITLE COMPANY - so SHOP AROUND, and DON'T USE LAWYERS ABSTRACT. They will overcharge you, and they will delay the process over and over and over again. It's all about what benefits them, not about helping you.
