Founded in 1990, Outside In School of Experiential Education is a nonprofit agency that helps and guides troubled teenagers to acquire new skills and positive attitudes. It offers substance abuse treatment and in-home and residential care services. The agency offers a drug and alcohol program, Pathway to Recovery, which serves adolescents and their families. Its weekend supervision program, Guided Path, offers several opportunities for student development through adventure-based programming, community service projects and experiential education. The program provides several adventure-based activities, such as cave exploration, camping, backpacking, mountain biking and rock climbing. It is licensed through the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, Department of Education, and Department of Health.
