Dara English is a highly skilled Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Adult-Gerontology degree from East Carolina University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, both from East Carolina University. Prior to joining Physicians East, Dr. English served as Doctor of Nursing Practice and Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Atlantic Gastroenterology. She has also held positions as a staff nurse at Vidant Medical Center and Gastroenterology East. Dr. English's commitment to advancing healthcare access and outcomes is evident from her doctoral project, which focused on improving colorectal cancer screening in rural communities during the global pandemic. In addition to her clinical work, she is dedicated to the education and training of future nursing professionals as a part-time faculty member at the East Carolina University School of Nursing. Outside of her professional life, Dr. English enjoys PIRATE football, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband and children. She grew up in Eastern North Carolina and remains deeply connected to her community.
