Just bought me a 2015 Jeep Renegade. Christian was an amazing sales rep. She was easy to communicate with and made my car buying experience pleasant. The sales manager and finance officer were also great to deal with. Best car buying experience ever.

Where do I start? I called a day in advance and scheduled an appointment on Memorial Day 2015 to look at a 2013 Ram 2500. After driving 30 miles and showing up I was greeted by Josh Coffield and I asked to see the truck. Working with Josh is the only part of this excruciating experience I do not regret. That’s when I was told that it was in service having a warranty and a recall issue repaired and I could look it over but not drive it. I was really taken aback to have scheduled the visit and the truck not be ready. I should have seen the light about then but the truck was very clean and had an immaculate service record. I looked it over and made an agreeable deal on the truck and was finally allowed to drive it before I left because the part they needed was not in. I was told that the part would be in the next day and that I could pick the truck up that afternoon. Several days and phone calls later I finally got my truck. Fast forward three months and on the way home from work the transmission makes a popping sound and gives it up on a raised highway that has no room to pull off. While sitting in 65 MPH traffic waiting to be run over I finally got it moving enough to limp off of that bridge and called Dodge. They came and got it and carried it away on a Ford rollback which seemed a little ironic at the time so I snapped photo. That is when the real hell started. I was told that it was a simple accumulator plate and that I would have it back in a couple of days. I told them that I knew better and was pretty much told that I did not know what I was talking about. I was also told that they did not have a loaner that I could drive so I had to bum a ride to work. After two days they said they had a vehicle I could use and I drove thirty miles back to get it. I was then informed that it was a small SUV from Enterprise and they were paying the base rental fee but I was responsible for insurance and any damages that may happen. The gas tank in the rental was empty but I was told that it had to come back with at least ¼ tank. I asked how I was going to pull my 7000 lb trailer with an SUV and walked out and left the rental there. Now well over two weeks and MANY phone calls to East Carolina and Ram corporate they have decided to patch up my old transmission and call it fixed. I’m pretty sure I did not buy a truck with a rebuilt transmission and would not have if that had been on the service record. Long story short if you have an incredibly weak moment and purchase a Ram pickup from these people make sure that you have a second car to drive and some really good walking shoes. You’ll be doing a lot of walking. And If you think about calling Ram corporate to try and help your warranty issues just go bang your head against a really solid wall, it will be more productive in the long run.

Update, I got my truck back 19 days later with a rebuilt transmission and 3/8 of a tank of fuel gone, funny I would have had to bring the rental back with more fuel than it started with. I drove my truck home and slid under it to look it over. The first thing I noticed was a small wiring harness hanging below the frame so I fastened it back where it was supposed to be and then saw that the flywheel inspection plate screws had just been started in the threads and I tightened that. That makes me wonder what else the technician may have missed that can’t be seen while finishing the job late in the day on Friday. I now have ZERO confidence in the truck and cant imagine leaving home pulling my camper for a long trip.
