I would recommend this place! I dropped my 2008 mini cooper s head off on Monday with a burnt exhaust valve and picked it up today and it looks amazing! Great work and customer service!

These guys have never given me an issue, I gave a bad rating originally but retracted the review since I found out the error was on my part. I pulled the head three times thinking that they had not vacuum tested the head appropriately. Little did I know when I rebuilt the engine I did not torque the cam gear down appropriately. I was in the wrong to write such a terrible review. I give these guys five stars the have done great work for me I just hate that my stupidity pushed me so far away from these guys!

I would stay away unless you really want to redo it yourself to be right!! I have my own BMW repair shop and was trying to find a machine shop to clean a couple of V-8 heads and check them. I tried NAPA and Carquest but they were about 1.5-2 weeks backed up so the only other choice was dover cylinder head and they took it right away. I thought great finally can get this done. Wrong!! I quickly found out why they were not busy. First when I came back to pick up the heads they only brought out the heads and none of the hardware that I included and he said that was it. No it was not. They finally went and found the missing parts. Not organized at all. No tags, nothing. After paying $150.00 I took them back to the shop to do the valve job and I thought maybe I should just make sure they did a good job. What a joke!! There was still sludge and all in all the oil passages and all the lifter ports were clogged. The cam oil galleys still full of sludge. They never even took the galley plugs out to clean. Isn't that what I paid for?? To clean the heads. Well I took the plugs out and cleaned all the ports myself and after 3hrs they are all clean like they should have been. Good thing I checked otherwise would have destroyed both heads and camshafts. Very very sloppy work and zero quality control here. If I could have given zero stars I would have. Bottom line unless you want to pay good money and have to do all the work yourself DON'T USE DOVER CYLINDER HEAD!! Hope this helps someone else.

This comapny ruined the parts I dropped off to rebuild my SR20DET. I asked to have the block and cylinder head rebuilt, valve job, all parts cleaned, flywheel resurfaced, etc and half the work was completed 3 weeks later. By then I just picked all my parts up and left. They almost lost half of the stuff I left for them, I had to find the parts for them! They don't keep any records whatsoever of what they did. They ruined my $450 flywheel by taking off too much surface material. Take your parts somewhere else and save the headache and money. They will do and say everything they can not to give you a refund. This will be the last time ever stepping foot into that place.

Dishonest! They decide what to do based on how much $ they can make. If you drop your head off for an estimate, you will get it back with the work completed with what THEY wanted to do, even if you didn't approve the work! Chris Dover is out of touch with his business. I have 26 years experience in the automotive industry. Dover Cylinder Head is for people who don't know what honest work is; Honest work is to serve the client, not to line the pockets of the owner. They got me once; NEVER AGAIN!
