MAIN ISSUE: - I had to leave the home for an hour. My wife and kids were at the home while Ed and his workers began unloading the 2nd trailer. My wife called me about 30 minutes after they started unloading the 2nd trailer saying "Ed just quit and walked off the job". I called Ed to find out what happened but he wouldn't answer his phone. Finally he texted back saying "truck is not professionally loaded someone will get hurt" and that "I lied when you told me 2 people loaded these trailers". (I hired 2 professional men to load this trailer irrespective of the claim Ed has made). I told Ed he was clearly unprofessional by walking off the job and leaving me and my family stranded and that I was going to file a claim on his insurance and bond - his comment to me was "good luck with that, you should have read the contract". (I don't even know if he has insurance, bond, license but we will find out when I file a claim this week.)

I highly recommend upstate movers! I was in need of a quick move and once i called them they had the availability open and did not hesitate to ask me questions and get info to help me out. He had great suggestions and helped me save money. They were very fast and very careful and courteous with my furniture! They put blue blankets over my furniture so it wouldn't get dirty or damaged. Their rate was 75/hour which is great for the level of care and service. Not to mention they even arrived early and called ahead of time to make sure it was okay. This is the moving company that i suggest and will surely be using them again. They also fit my one bed one bath and very large furniture into a 10 x 10 unit! i was astonished that he was able to fit it all in there. They sure do know how to maximize space and store things! Give them a call because i surely did not regret it!

Response from the OWNER. I would like everyone to notice that the bad reviews were from people who did not even want OUR FULL SERVICES. They were trying to save money on their move so they rented a moving truck, had people load it and then expected Upstate Movers to DROP EVERYTHING to come unload it. One guy even called us after another cut rate company failed to show. NO THANKS. We will be no ones' second choice. So yes, I gave him a lesson on that. GUILTY. When you move yourself you are trying to save money, I get that, but that's like going to a restaurant and telling them that you want steak and lobster, but you don't want to pay $50 for the meal so you would like to bring your own groceries, have them to cook it and only pay $25 dollars. Good luck with that. We are happy to help DO IT YOUR SELFERS but not at the cost of a customer who wants our full services. As for your ranting reviews, one thing Norma failed to mention is that she was over 2 hours late and had never prepaid for her move which is required. We at Upstate Movers like to work for PAYING CUSTOMERS

I am sure my employees appreciate that. Notice I only gave us 1 star, not because we deserve it, but because I don't need to write fake reviews like some companies. I just wanted to give our side of the story. By the way we offered to reschedule her unload but she refused. Ever had a flight cancelled??? Did you throw a tantrum at the gate?? Of course not. Extremely rude and left me stranded with a 16' truck to unload. Ed was very rude and unprofessional. When I told Ed I was depending on him he said, "What am I supposed to do about that?" He proceeded to hang up on me. Nice Job Upstate Movers. Don't even consider this company or you may be left in a bind.

They didn't show. When I called to ask where they were the guy told me he thought I'd called this morning to cancel (right). I asked if they could still come out and say "no." I was not happy and he hung up on me. Save yourself the trouble!

Read the reviews on yelp or Google+. Go with a mover who actually respects you. Worth a lot more (though I bet you can find it at lower cost) than what this company has to offer.

I called upstate movers Sat evening and they were there Sunday on time and ready to work. Very professional and efficient. Would use again. Great experience. Reasonably priced. They even moved my heavy piano up stairs and on to my wood floor without a scratch.

I would avoid this company at all costs. Obviously, the owners has had his buddies fill in positive reviews but I can assure you, this is a HORRIBLE company. Now I can understand why the company has an F rating with BBB where the owner's friends can post there. I just wished I had known that earlier. They destroyed an armoir of mine, broke a glass mirror and ruined a piece of art. They had ZERO interest in paying for damages even when I raised it with the owner. These people are the lowest of the low. The owner, John Pearson, is such a complete arsehole, you'll be amazed. These people do not care about their customers. I've never in all my life had such a bad experience with another company. How this company is still in business is totally beyond me.

I would be skeptical of some of these negative reviews. they seem so far from the experience that I had that I have trouble believing it's the same company! I needed three refrigerators moved from FI to Maudlin on Saturday and I called Ed on Friday. He was super professional and walked me through setting up the best possible moving scenario with patience. He never once made the fact that this was last minute a problem. They moved all the units, took great care in doing so, and kept to his word on the hourly rate. I personally feel I got a heck of a deal. At one point they had to take down a very expensive door to get the fridge in the house and they did so with a lot of care. This was hands down the best moving experience I have ever had. I totally trust Ed and will be calling him again. Totally satisfied.
