Being an antique collector and person who enjoys poking around unusual haunts, to acquire unusual and fun artifacts, Patina Antiques (?) is NOT the place to go! In my opinion, it is simply an overpriced shop of cutsey items which can easily be found at. lower end flea markets and garage sales. In addition, the owner is a surly woman who is easily annoyed if you ask questions about her merchandise and nearly goes off her nut if you attempt to negotiate a price. If you ask her anything regarding provenance about an item, she will give you a disgusted look and tell you that she knows nothing of its origins and proceeds to walk away. If you ask for special assistance in acquiring something she does not carry, then be prepared for a really frosty look!! She is typical of owners who want to make maximum profits with the least amount of work. Shop there if you DARE; but, closely check your receipt before leaving! The creative arithmetic they employ tends to favour the store. Enough said. I think you get the picture. 😧

At first I was excited when I entered the store based on the merchandise. The excitement was short lived as I soon encountered the woman working there (who I later found out was actually the owner). It is shocking that an owner of a store would be so rude to her customers. She is very unprofessional. Also, her pricing system seems off. She will have two pieces placed together with one price. However, when you get to the sales counter she then says the other part is an additional price (although not labeled, priced, or marked separately). It seems like a bait and switch. Also, I asked her the price of one item and the owner gave me a price. Later I actually found the tag for item and the actual price was much cheaper! I then brought it to her attention and told her I would like to pay that price. To which she responded, âI bet you wouldâ. Also, watch out when she fills out your ticket. She actually wrote down higher amounts then the items had on them! It was crazy. Donât shop here â well, unless you want to be treated poorly and ripped off!

Patina is so much more than your typical antiques store. The ladies there have new merchandise every week and it's always something I can take straight home and put up in my house. They have a great mix of true antiques, vintage items, and newer things that are in style now. This is the best-of-the-best in the Denver-metro area!
