John C. Monteith Elementary School has an enrollment of more than 600 students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers traditional courses in language arts, math, science and social studies. The school s language arts curriculum focuses on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Its science programs offer information on plants, animals, rocks, minerals, solids, liquids, air, magnetism, levers and water. The school also organizes workshops on disability awareness. Additionally, it conducts pumpkin contests and Halloween parades. Located in Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., John C. Monteith Elementary School also provides a range of stationery items, such as erasers, scissors, crayons, binders, pencils, folders, glue sticks, highlighters and markers.
